Whenever I try to install any .rwp file in "utilities" i get this message: upload_2024-5-19_18-21-31.png
I've tried everything, from running the application as administrator to restarting my pc.
It's getting pretty annoying as I just paid about 10 euros for an addon, and it doesn't even work.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

    Cheers, Maxi

I had this a while ago on my old PC and it was caused by something to do with my country settings. I can’t remember exactly how I solved it.

However, easiest way to get around it is to use 7zip to unpack the .rwp and then Just copy the contents to the relevant place in your Railworks folder.

It's working fine on my end - I've seen issues reported with Win 11 due to some changes in the codepage handling and Utilities.exe being a very old piece of software. Users reported switching Windows to English fixed that.

File a support ticket, as DTG are currently reworking major parts of the game code, they might address this.

As said, you can just use 7zip to install .rwp files.

I am only using Utilities for generating localisation .lan files. (For editing scenarios created in a foreign language - these can't be edited unless you switch TS to that language which I don't want.)

I'm on Win11 and have no issues other than hating the slow clunky software which is why I never use it, always use the 7zip method myself.

Maybe it's the C:/ Program files (×86) security protocols causing issues as mine is in root E:/

That could be the issue, UAC. Got it in E:\RailWorks and "officially" in C:\Steam - not ProgramFiles (x86) which is protected where I only install programs that don't need write permissions and save their data elsewhere (Registry, Documents, AppData).

The ticket did nothing, he just said that I should contact the devs of the loco.
Is he right or is he just lazy??

Have you tried opening the .rwp file with 7zip or similar, it's pretty much just a "zip" file that can be opened that way? It won't install but you can copy the files to your hard drive where train simulator classic is installed?

(others have mentioned above this too)

Sorry for not being active here, I think I did something wrong but, dragging and dropping files works.

    Thank you to everyone.
