Now seeing as the 1972 stock in real life is getting new PIS could we see this in TSW.

They rarely update to the newest version even if it changes in real life.

No point in that really. Once a route gets released in TSW, it acts as a time capsule in a way.

well, in TSC, even HST remains its old modeling. same 3rd view shape of ECML released at 2013. so...

and i personally think preserving timeline what the DLC originally intended to is also important.

One thing that should be in any update for it is the ability to open the cab door.

Aside from that, I'd rather have a new Underground route, Jubilee, Northern, Central, Victoria Line with the 92, 95, 96, 2009 Stock etc.

They won't instead they would rather update what they have already got.

Agree the 72 stock could do with better sounds especially since the 1938 stock got an actually quite good sound buff from Rivet. However being realistic, DTG are not going to allocate resources to something which is unlikely to bring in many extra sales of the DLC concerned. And IMHO there is plenty else for the sound guy to be getting on with, such as how to get reverb working properly on all routes and trains, refining the steam sound effects and last but most certainly not least, sorting out the dog’s breakfast they made of the Class 700 sounds.

About the only chance of the 1972 stock getting an update, is if DTG decided to do another LT tube line that uses/used it.

    I’m almost certain that’s a licensing thing.

For the silliest reason no doubt. Then again, this is TfL, the company that lately banned a poster for showing a cake and another for 'looking like graffiti'.

I'll not be convinced of their reasoning for stupid.

Not needed, it seems a pointless update to something already done, and the old is probably more appropriate for when the route is set.
