it seems the Journey with the 363 can not be completed, the last 3 run with the passenger wagons, are not showing ay of the steps that need to be done The first run says with the first step stop at location, when you stop at said location, nothing is happning, so there is no way we know which direction to go to complete the next step, in fact the first step never get mark as completed The second, I skiped to this run, the first step is to wait until a specified time, that one get mark as complete right away, but the next step is to couple to a set of 4 wagons (grey out), there are 2 such set, I tried to coupled to both and once again nothing is happening PS. before anyone ask, the name for both is ON FOOT
I did not check recently, but there was/is an issue. You can only run these services by going on foot to the engine. Please report this (again) at the technical issues forum or support the topic there.
You can definitly do these services by selecting the service (as I completed them all), but I believe there is a problem with journey mode.
? I never colored inside the lines - ever. You can run timetables scenarios and even the individual runs in the journey in any order you desire. I certainly hope your comment was a tongue-in-cheek comment.
I mean I follow the order in which it is laid out in the game, Journey, once completed, Scenario, what is left after the Journey, once done, Timetable, again what is left after the Journey I do step over at most one Journey run, if impossible to be completed, like the one in going to San Francisco in the rain and you get stuck at a red light forever, because one train is stuck at the beginning of the 64KM zone, and another one stuck at the entrance of San Francisco station, and one stuck trying to exit San Francisco station, since none of them get moving ever, that run must be skipped
You can of course do it that way, but I wouldn‘t even say it‘s intended that way. The journey mode just chooses a timetable service for you with a fixed loco and weather. Personally, I haven‘t touched journey mode since I got the trophy (PS4 player) for 10 journey chapters completed. While journey mode should work and/or be fixed, I don‘t think it‘s a that big of an issue if the timetable mode works just fine.
Then why do they bother to place the Journey there to begin with, if is no meant to be played, and completed, then they should not put it there like they did with the Amtrak train and the german subway
I‘m sorry. I should have been clearer in what I meant. I didn‘t mean journey mode is not intended to be played, I ment that I think journey mode is more of an alternative to timetable mode as opposed to what you should do before tackling timetable mode. My reasoning for this is as follows. Journey mode simply uses timetable services with a set loco (if there is a choice), set time of year, and set weather. This allows players who don‘t want to deal with all of the choices timetable mode offers to just let the game (or developers as it is) choose for them. I do want to reiterate that I no way want to imply that this issue should not be fixed or that my way of playing is in any way superior to yours. This is all my opinion, not fact.
I meant no dis-respect with my earlier comment, I understand what you mean One thing that would be great in the timetable, is that each run should only be marked as done if you done it with the season/weather selected, and not mark once for all the available selection, this way it would give even more possible run than it is currently, and there would be only minimum re-programming
There are many ways to play the game. Journey mode is a good introduction to a route but it’s not mandatory to play it first or at all. As long as you have turned auto journeys off in the settings menu you can access anything you like from the menu screen - journey, scenario, timetable etc. It’s very flexible. It’s also not a game where the object is to ‘complete’ it or any part of it. There are trophies, some of which require completing a journey or set of scenarios but trophies aren’t compulsory to get either. I tend to do the Journey first for most DLC as the weather settings are usually more interesting than those that can be set manually and there is usually a good choice in each journey. If a scenario or service can’t be completed, report it via the support system and/or in the technical reports section of the forum, and then skip it until such time as it is fixed, if it ever is. There’s no guarantee that it will be fixed and there are numerous examples of that, but a lot do get fixed eventually.
THe report it via the support system and/or in the technical reports section of the forum, is unfortunately not accessbile to non technical people, you must be a programmer or something equivalent to access it, anyone can read what is in there, yes, but only those who qualify as techinical personal can post there
You can just post what you posted here, but instead of posting the thread in the PC Discussion section of the forum you post it in the Technical Reports section. You don’t need to be more technical to do it. It is more likely to be seen by the right people in that section.
wut? BTW the words I've got from support about this was that the issue got registered and nothing more they can do about this. Just wait for the fixes when/if they will come.
Please calm down. Anyone can send a bug report, just describe as accurately as possible what you see. The Technical Report section is as open as this one. Also, there is not any order prescribed to play the game. You can start doing the journeys, which is nice, but if you select explore in the main menu, you have access to all content, tutorials, scenarios and timetable. Journey is nothing but a more or less ordered collection of drives. For timetable drives the weather is set for you. The game has a bit of a technical nature and having a technical background may help during game play, but anyone can drive a train in this game and you are free to ask as many questions as you like.
