I already made one for the UK, so I guess I could do the US as well, aka my home country. Here are 4 possible routes that could come. And yes, this is sort of a wishlist. Some may argue about these, but these are MY thoughts. And yes again, these routes are mainly East Coast routes. 1. Chicago-Aurora This route is sort of possible as we already have the BNSF license so we can get BNSF freight and Metra services, as Metra is owned by BNSF. We could get CSX, maybe Amtrak, I don’t know. The main route traffic will be freight, and I would say this is the second most likely US route to be add to the game. We already have most of the trains in the game, and it’s the average route length for TSW. 2. (7) Line for the NYC Subway This route is sort of reasonable to add, as we already have the MTA license. The rolling stock will consist of R188s and possibly R62As, and will run from 34th Street to Flushing-Main Street. The yard is Corona Yard (and no, not the virus) and this is one route that will be run 24/7. Specifically, every 20 minutes in the late night hours. During the rush hours, there will also be a <7> service (an express 7) which will run express to Manhattan in the morning, and express to Queens in the evening. 3. LIRR Extension TheTrainGuy4 already shared his thoughts on this, and he things an extension to GCM and Port Washington seems like a good idea. The route will allow an extra 15 miles to the route that is already 45 miles long. The M9 will also be an addition into this route, and I have no idea what else I should put here. 4. WMATA Silver Line This route would probably be the hardest to get as a US route, as while it is sort of the average route length by miles for TSW, I don’t think we have a WMATA license. Also, the route is over an hour long (1h 40m to be exact) and there will be about three depots. One west of Dulles Airport, one at Falls Church and some pocket tracks at Largo. It runs alongside the Orange Line from Stadium-Armory to East Falls Church, and the Blue from Largo to Rosslyn. The rolling stock consists of Breda 2000, 3000 and Alstom 6000 series, and the new Kawasaki 7000 Series. The 7000s are 60% of the WMATA fleet, and will be the most common train to spot. There are interchanges at Lefant Plaza to the Yellow and Green Lines, Metro Center to the Red, and that’s pretty much it. Here’s a reference of the majority rolling stock on all lines. Red - 3000 Series Blue - 6000 Series Orange - 7000 Series Yellow - 2000 Series Green - 6000 Series Silver - 3000/6000/7000 Series (mainly 7k) I’m a local, that’s why I know all this.
This is incorrect. BNSF does not own Metra. The Chicago-Aurora Metra line itself (and only that one) is owned by BNSF and subsidized by Metra under a purchase of service agreement. The line is operated by BNSF's own employees, while Metra owns the locos and coaches. Recently DTG did get a BNSF license (though only they know what it actually covers), but they've been unable to get a Metra license so far.
would love to see an LIRR extension, one of the few american routes i enjoy to drive on despite it being shorter than others. I really think it would need a better timetable though as (like alot of older routes) it doesn't include as many services as it should, and looks way too empty
Being realistic, anything to do with New York subways is out of the question and not any time soon. Not having access to references, can't go and take pictures and videos, etc
True. It’s highly requested but we already have a lot of New York routes. Lemme list them just for reference. NEC Trenton-NY LIRR Atlantic Termina/NY Penn-Hicksville/Belmont/Hempstead MNRR Grand Central-N White Plains (Not in use) NEC New York We don’t need more for the moment.
Excellent idea overall speaking of this one You need to modify the existing Floral Park to Hicksville section because of the completed third track project since October 3rd 2022 when it was done and opened to Revenue Service completely I took this from the New York State Governor website.
