1. When choosing a line the filter is not perfect Filter US content: NEC New York-Trenton and MBTA Commuter Boston-Worcester are missing. Filter UK content: Isle Of Wight 2022 is missing. Instead the Swiss Berninaline appears. Filter Swiss content: Berninaline is missing (of course) The Vorarlberg line from Germany to Austria is neither appearing in the German nor the Austrian filter. 2. After finishing a route, I can jump back to the same timetable. This is not possible when aborting a route. Then I have to return to the main menu, choose route and train again instead. The reason why it’s annoying for me is because when I make announcements (now only for the pre-TSW6 routes), on most routes I have to look up the timetable of every service because they often have different stops. That means open service, press the timetable button, then abort the service, go back to main menu, choose the route again, choose the same train and then open the next service and so on… 3. I play TSW without all those markers. But when I play a Training, Target, Stop and Scenario markers are active again. 4. This is the most annoying and immersion killing point, Reward notifications! I drive on a route and suddenly BAM! there’s a message in the middle of the screen that I have driven 100 miles or so, obscuring speed limit signs and signals. Please make only the reward notifications either optional like the different markers, or place them at the edge of the screen ! Enough complaints for today, I have to drive a train to Paignton tonight...
^ This. It's a small thing, but endlessly irritating. I deactivate the stop marker via settings and save, do a run, jump to another route, and it's switched itself on again.... I can confirm it's still a thing in TSW6. It makes me wonder whether those who make the game actually play it, because if they did they'd surely notice this?
5 thing: it's a good thing DTG is developing this product, otherwise railway enthusiasts would have to rely on Trainz or SimRail (which produces one addon per year).
Passenger behaviour is still a nightmare too. They did work on it but not nearly enough. While passengers will now actually board the train, they only do it to the nearest carriage. Really annoying when you have something like a 4 car 150 & it’s empty other than the full 4th car. They still stay on your train when it’s out of service or in depots. Even worse when you actually pick an OOS train from the menu, they’re there when you load in. It’s one thing they won’t actually leave the OOS train after you finish a service, but it’s really taking the biscuit when you get an OOS train freshly loaded with passengers. PIS systems, the fact that they took manual PIS setting away from us is one thing, but when they’re so heavily leaning on using trains in free roam with their marketing, they need to make the PIS engage with that system too. Running an OOS train all the time is not fun. This could also be away for them to introduce a method for the player to force passengers off the train.
The stuff consoles are missing really annoys me like what’s the point of taking away camera speed from tsw 2?, and a few others which are quite annoying also if I find another annoying placed camera barrier I will seriously lose it
This is my pet hate and I'm afraid another example of the game designers' arrogance coming through. I really enjoy playing TSW and the feast in 6 so far is generally very good. But for the love of god, if I've decided to turn off those cartoon colours on the track and/or the objective marker, please leave it to me if I want to put them back on.
I really wish passengers weren't on "empty" (supposedly) trains. They say they fixed passengers not getting on, but I stopped at Dawlish Warren with a 150 and they still stood there staring at my character through his cab window. Edit; I also don't like going into photo mode and the driver is invisible during photo mode making the train look like no-one is driving it
Are you kidding me, Trainz22 has tons of add on locomotives and routes along with a lot of quality payware! It also has a real route editor to make them how you want.
Sorry to burst the bubble here, but while Trainz might have a powerful route editor (though apparently N3V declined to work with the guy who makes Transdem to make it fully compatible), the driving experience remains largely inferior. Ancient assets relying on incorrect aliased cabs and sounds. No easy way to set up a player timetable and have the AI set your route and regulate you around other trains. Poor physics, AFAIK vacuum brakes are still not simulated and most trains still use lapped brakes even when they should be using stepped or Westinghouse systems. The latest UK Diesel pack has laughably poor quality including just wrong looking coach interiors on the Mark Ones and N3V want £20 for that!
All good points. I especially agree with #2. You should be able to go back to the timetable at any time. Only enabling this when your run is complete is actually the least convenient time, because then you have the additional choice to Free Roam to another service, or else you weren't planning on another service anyway.
Lack of any brightness or gamma controls. Pretty much every game I play even from hole in the wall studios at least have a basic "move slider until image on left is barely visible" setup. Yet somehow DTG thinks they can come up with ONE brightness and gamma preset that is going to work out of the box on every single type of monitor and TV out there. You see so many people complaining about the game looking terrible and washed out - they could probably get rid of most of that just by letting us set the game up.
Very much this, kind of mind boggling we still don't have such a setting in game. Might help mitigate the absolute pitch black on some ToD4 routes at night. DW
