On WSR I'm struggling to make the double header of the 4F and Jubilee move I release the brakes then they come straight back on. Can anyone help me? sorry if it's a silly question.

Release the brakes in the Jubilee before releasing them in the 4F

Is this another case where you need to sound two quick “crows” on the whistle to get the AI driver to release his brakes?

I gave two quick blasts on the whistle and brakes then released with no issues

There really needs to be a prompt or something at the start of these runs to remind the player.

You need to close both ejectors

It's crazy that they'd expect you to work that out for yourself.
Sometimes it's hard to tell if something is a bug or a feature in this game.

If it was a scenario it would probably (though not guaranteed), give you the baby steps. However with timetable runs you just get dropped straight in and the readiness of the train as we know can be a complete lottery.

That is why you do a “pre-flight” on every loco before you move. On steamers, I always use whistle signals regardless of whether I have a banker or not. In the U.S. for most lines it was pretty standard 1 for stopping, 2 for forward and 3 for going into reverse. Told the brakemen when to apply and release the brakes in the times before Westinghouse brakes were fitted.

And long after, in yards, since frequently for switching ops they didn't bother hooking up the air hoses
