All I have to say is the 4F get the job done and it get the job done well. Let just say the 4F needs groomed. Good to use it in free roam
Here to add my honest opinion about DTGs minimalism. With the 4f, Tsw got another nice steam engine. Well especially with the low amount of current stock in tsw, they managed to not include any new services in the very empty (and very nice made) crewe liverpool route after releasing peak forest. No static stock, no shunting..., this would be additional advertisement. In fact not a single steam loco dlc was released, which would be a must have creation, parallel to the route release. In fact they spent tousands of manhours to recreate a historic accurate route, just to leave it as fire and forget... Im not complaining, i just think 95% of TSWs major problems are entirely selfmade by the developpers, and now with 50+ dlcs its out of control because the every dlc was a "cooked soup" for it self. Comparing the game industry to a manufacturing industry or railway sector, they are entirely different target groups, but they have in common that there are "screwes / processes", where you get with minimal changes and optimisation, a maximal effect or output. Somehow i think DTG didnt manage to improve themselve in a efficient way. Spending more time in quality control, would save them a lot of time. I guess the mess they are in with TSW4, proofes that there is clearly something wrong. Update promises for TSW2 / TSW3 as pure marketing gag. Now with 50 dlcs, its too late to change the foundation again. At least now everybody is technically free to do his own timetable. So i really think its worth to spend time with the editor. So at least nobody has to wait for DTG, but im sure it takes a while to get used with the tools.
Tragic waste of the 4F IMHO. In addition to SoS, it should have been given a Timetable and Journey on WSR. Of course it is a bit overpowered and suffers the general lack of steam traction feature depth as the rest of them, as being but of the 4 steam locos in TSW (well 3.5 as I regard FS as more of a steam outline gimmick), probably the best one to drive.
If they can make a profit of it , they may do it at some point. I agreeWSR is crying for some nice additional timetables.
