I know there’s not a lot in the timetable but does anyone know which services/headcodes are most likely to give you 8 cars?
I don't know any particular headcodes but Irl you would see longer trains in the Peak periods. Although tsw has it totally wrong. I've seen a few pass me early evening.
I believe the Euston to Crewe service which runs fast between Milton Keynes and Euston is usually 8 cars, as well as some of the services to/from Birmingham. I don't think any of the slow services are apart from at peak periods. Obviously in real life they'd all be 8 cars, I spent four hours at Milton Keynes Central irl last week and I only saw a single 4 car 350.
Begs the question why didn't they put two 350s together when thats obviously way more prototypical. Are there other dmus that run these lines (Other 4 car dmus that would be easy to replace/sub in for 350 services)? *Emus of course
I assume you mean EMUs. And no, LNWR exclusively operate 350s on these routes apart from some 730/0s that are temporarily operating a few of the stoppers to/from Milton Keynes and Tring. They're destined for local services around Birmingham. LNWR will have their own fleet of 730s in the future however they've only just begun testing. The problem is that for some reason DTG decided to only include the 350/1, even though (to my knowledge) there are no appreciable differences between any of the 350 subclasses. I don't know why they stuck to just the 350/1 as in the past they had no problem duplicating the 377/4 to make the 377/1, even though the latter has noticeably different headlights.
