Was doing a lovely run from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead in the 52, all had gone smoothly and I was genuinely enjoying myself. But this is TSW, a journey wouldn’t be complete without something going wrong and bugging out. Just at the final signal before Minehead I get stuck in the map screen and cannot get out, I think because I panned over a signal and must have pressed something else right at the same time. Everything expect the train froze and became unresponsive, there was a 25mph smash into the buffers and I couldn’t complete the service. This new map has caused nothing but stress since its launch, particularly not being able to exit when you’re hovering over labels (which turn themselves back on every time you leave and re-enter…). I don’t go chasing green ticks or medals in these types of games but it’s nice to at least know what I’ve done and what I haven’t, and now I’ll have to do another needless 80 minute trip.
Appreciate it's too late for this one, but so you know for the future - if you get stuck on a label, toggle them off, move the pointer away, and then come out of the map. Don't know your platform, but on PS5 I believe it's the square button to toggle labels
I had the map completely freeze on me as well. Although in my case it froze the entire game, thankfully I didn't do much before it happened.
I'm not sure why the map had to change. It's not "better". There's more information but I didn't need speed information and such on AT. If the cost is it's buggier and laggier... I'd rather revert to the old map.
I rather see they fix it then revert it I personally like the new map but then i am on steam and never had any problems with the live map
It's so annoying we don't have a quicksave key, but I have got in the habit now of hitting Esc (on PC) and making a save at critical moments.
Been doing that for years. Every 10 minutes or so whatever I'm running. I don't get a lot of time to play, so having to start over a service or scenario is a p.i.t.a.
Save constantly! Or at least every 10-15 minutes. I’m very OCD on this. Like yourself, I have too many unfinished journeys thanks to my game crashing out or some other technical error.
Or Snowrunner, where the game saves at random intervals with no player control or on exit. Which means if your vehicle tips over and you spill your load, Alt F4 is your only friend to kill the game and hope the last save goes back far enough, but not too far, to recover your progress.
This works most of the time, but there still is the rare occasion on which the game completely freezes.
