Firstly, as a real world locomotive operator/train driver, I must say that Train Sim World is the Jewel in the crown for DoveTail Games. 9.6/10 is my score and it is really amazing. A few physics issues and lighting issues to be fixed but saying that one can enjoy it immensely.

I have noticed the lack of shadows on TSW. Especially under the rail vehicles. I just wonder why this has been missed. Maybe there is an explanation.

Houses don't look like they have been shadow baked. Am I missing something (I am a novice graphic artist at best) here? It would be nice to see buildings close to the track with porches be quite darker as they are naturally under the porch/patio. Was this changed to optimize performance? If it has been then please don't downgrade performance for this. I am happy with the game/simulator as it is ie don't break it if it doesn't need fixing.

Also, the cab of locomotives are way too bright (in daylight) and this could be darkened considerably(I say this from real world experience). Maybe you could implement a mode the user can choose so when they are looking out the window (like a camera's F meter) the light inside the cab can be darkened? In TS2018 the cab isn't so bright and I feel it is close to the real thing. I don't care how it is done, just make sure those cabs are not like they are now WITHOUT the cab light on.

If people want a bright cab then turn the light on.

I just hope these two issues don't cause loss of framerates because I am actually quite happy with 30FPS right now.

Nice to hear feedback from real world people as well the lighting issue, I'll play with ingame settings. I agree it's best train sim out there right now and I don't regret buying a copy
