Hi there. I'm a TSW PS4 player looking for something different. I'd like to give TS2020 a chance. Watched a lot of videos on YouTube and I appreciate the huge amount of routes and trains. Only one problem: I don't have a PC. Any suggestions on a good, not super expensive laptop able to run TS2020 without too many compromises? Thank you!
I was able to find a gaming laptop on sale for under $1,000 CAD at Best Buy a year ago. 1060 card, added 16 GB of RAM for another $100 or so to make it capable of doing a metric buttton. You can get a really good gaming machine for relatively cheap if you look around. That said, read the system requirements for a lot of the newer stuff. A graphics card is advisable for newer items. Hudson Line, for instance, suggests: - 32-bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, 8.1 or 10 (this is a hard requirement) - Intel Core-i3 4330 3.50 GHz Dual Core or AMD A8 6600K 3.90 GHz Quad Core or Better (go for at least an i5, i7 if you can afford it) - 4 GB RAM (again, you can get a 16 GB stick and upgrade this, but many computers have 4 at minimum, and more is only better) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 Graphics with 1 GB Dedicated VRAM or Better (again, get a proper mid-to-high range card) Some older routes may not need this much, but plan for the newer, hardier routes and you can't go wrong. Oh, and note you will also need DirectX.
