As i move from oversea i wont access my main computer for a month or two. However i would like to continue to enjoy TSC on my laptop that is far less efficient (I5 8300H, Nvidia 1060, 24Go RAM) So instead of redownloading all the routes then trying them one by one, maybe will you be able to point me for a good route that is older computer friendly. I dont care freight or pessenger, or the country and era, I am eager to try anything if good enough. Thanks !
Im not the best at this stuff but I'd probably say stick with the classic era stuff. TBF the way TSC loads mean chances are it shouldnt be a major issue but I'd recomend sticking to the classic era. For record examples of these routes are: London Brighton WCMLN IOW Settle Carlise Liverpool-Manchester Hamburg-Hannover Sherman hill. Id keep listing but I think its easier if I send you an entire list: https://store.steampowered.com/dlc/24010/Train_Simulator_Classic/list/54170/ Again though chances are if it can run 64 Bit it can probably do a fair amount still due to the way TSC utlizes portals. Just stick away ro RWenchancer and resource heavy AP packs and it wil probably be fine. Maybe check out the classic routes and if you think it could handle it grab a small scale scenario pack off ATS or some other freeware site. Again this isnt my best place to discuss this but this is what i'd personally say.
I'm playing on i7-4790 with a GTX 970 (apparently starting to cough after 8.5 years) I can play and enjoy anything up to 2015 on 1080p with a couple reduced settings, most importantly AA. I don't have time to edit this stat for you now, third number is (tagged) screenshot count (first untagged), but I can even recommend Falmouth, and of course Semmeringbahn. So just check from the bottom. 106 1 20 | 2010-12-17: Falmouth Branch, Truro - Falmouth 75 1 20 | 2015-12-11: Semmeringbahn, Mürzzuschlag - Gloggnitz 38 2 24 | 2013-12-05: East Coast Mainline, London - Peterborough 67 1 25 | 2012-01-26: Woodhead Line 98 1 30 | 2014-05-15: München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen 179 1 30 | 2015-06-25: Weardale & Teesdale Network 86 4 33 | 2011-09-23: Seebergbahn 178 6 40 | 2011-04-22: Portsmouth Direct Line, Woking - Portsmouth 112 2 43 | 2011-08-25: Northeast Corridor, New York - Philadelphia 70 5 55 | 2014-12-05: Köln - Koblenz 164 1 60 | 2014-07-17: Norfolk Southern Coal District 0 7 67 | 2012-10-10: München - Augsburg 175 5 82 | 2015-10-22: North London Line 33 4 84 | 2007-10-12: Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, Bath - Templecombe 158 2 94 | 2016-02-14: BR's East Coast Mainline, London - Peterborough 178 9 99 | 2013-02-21: London - Faversham 181 13 112 | 2012-01-12: Ohio Steel 2 110 5 116 | 2013-10-17: Pacific Surfliner, Los Angeles - San Diego 0 19 151 | 2007-10-12: Great Western Mainline, Oxford - London Paddington 0 16 187 | 2007-10-12: East Coast Mainline, Newcastle - York 30 10 220 | 2011-09-23: Horseshoe Curve, Altoona - Johnstown 0 10 269 | 2015-12-21: Mosel Valley, Koblenz - Trier 0 15 299 | 2011-06-10: Bristol - Exeter 180 17 299 | 2012-09-20: Sherman Hill, Cheyenne - Laramie 0 28 312 | 2007-10-12: Ruhr-Sieg, Hagen - Siegen 0 22 352 | 2011-03-25: Edinburgh - Glasgow 2 14 366 | 2015-05-21: Soldier Summit, Provo - Helper 0 21 444 | 2014-02-14: Canadian Mountain Passes, Revelstoke - Lake Louise 0 25 481 | 2014-04-10: Northeast Corridor, New York - New Haven 0 24 571 | 2012-04-05: Settle - Carlisle 0 18 624 | 2018-07-13: Portsmouth Direct Line, London Waterloo - Portsmouth 3 30 647 | 2015-10-07: North Jersey Coast Line 0 40 1009 | 2012-12-22: Donner Pass, Roseville - Colfax - Truckee - Reno
Thank you both for comprehensive answers. I should have think by myself about just taking older routes ! It has been some time since i visited Settle- Carlise and i also have yet to discover Semmeringbahn so lets start here ! I think i will still need to reduce graphs to medium or lower. Thanks again !
