Hi, I have a problem. Everytime I try to open the doors for passengers when I use the CRH380D Chinese high-speed train in Train Simulator Classic, even in 64-bit, the exception info is out of memory and the system is unable to run this scenario on the current configuration, the suggestion says to either lowering the graphical quality settings or attempting to run the fame in the 64-bit version which it never stops failing. So can you please tell me why this happens and the exact tools to use to fix this problem? By the way, my current operating system is Windows 11. Thank you so much for your help. Sincerely, Connor Richey
Hello Connor. I can't reproduce the issues you have with the engine. Have you tried verifying your game files? To do so, right-click Train Simulator in your Steam Library, select "Properties" then "Local Files" and click "Verify integrity of game files" Hope that helps.
Thank you for your response and I hope this helps too so I am doing it right now and I will let you know how that works.
I tried it and it did not work because the program still crashes everytime I open the door on the CRH380D. So what do you think I should do next to fix this problem?
I'm experiencing the same issue, though I had played that one before. Will see if I can fix it. It works here, but it fails at the first scenario. I will try if running that one in 32-bit makes a difference, or if it depends on the unit (A or H) you're in.
I have tried to run it in 32-bit and can confirm this does the trick. In 64-bit, it always crashed in the "Dawn Service" scenario. 32-bit does work.
It crashed in at least the first and fourth scenario and it still crashes in the fourth scenario, even in 32-bit.
You must play these scenarios in 32 bit. But what I found - it is not the CRH380D, it is Chengdu station platform that causes the crash. I have tested the CRH380D successfully on the updated South West China Highspeed Network (which includes Chengdu - Suining) at Chengdu P4, opened the doors without issues on 64-bit. So the train is ok, it's just the (old) Chengdu route causing problems on 64-bit.
But the door operation only crashes the program on the CRH380D “A” in the CRH380D - Dawn Service and CRH380D - Night Express activities.
Do you mean it's old software which is why it will never work? Otherwise, how do I play these scenarios in 32-bit? Because I tried a quick drive for the CRH380D, and the door operation does not crash the program if I use the Southwest China high-speed route, even at Chengdu station and now it has crashed when I opened the door at the end of the CRH380D - Evening Service scenario and in the middle of the CRH380D - Morning Service scenario.
Yes, the Chendgu-Suining route is a bit older (it shows) and apparently has some issues in 64-bit. Train Simulator is backwards compatible, and its ancestor is Kuju's RailSimulator (2007), which was supposed to be Microsoft Train Simulator 2. But MS lost interest and Kuju continued to developed it - it was then published by EA. Kuju bought themselves out of the contract to later sell the Simulator to RSDL, which is now DTG (a trading name of RailSimulator.com = RSC). Most of the game's core code is still the same. 64 bit was added in 2019. So TS comes with a 64 and a 32 bit exe for compatibility. 99% of all content works fine on 64-bit, but you can launch the 32-bit exe by going to your Steam Library, select Train Simulator and click Play. The first option "Play Train Simulator" launches the game in 32 bit mode. To play all Chengdu scenarios, simply choose the first option. I've played all four CRH380D scenarios without crashing once on 32bit.
Hey! Guess what? As I opened the door in the first part of the CRH380D - Evening Service scenario, it did not crash so it mustn't be doing that anymore because I tried using 32-bit again and perhaps I opened the door later, but still crashes in the CRH380D - Dawn Service scenario. But the Chengdu-Suining route and the CRH380D were both not released for Train Simulator until around 2015, eventhough I am concerned that the program will always crash, even if I get new software, a new program or something, like if I get a new PC and the door opening operation on the CRH380D in Train Simulator and completing the activities will never work so I would just have to let it go forever and move on otherwise I will use Windows 7 on VMWare, right?
The Operating System has nothing to do with it. I am running Win7 and the Chengdu 64-bit crash occured on my system too, if you have read my post. It is probably a rounding error/integer overflow or whatever that causes this crash, and can only be found in the script of one of the assets of the route/ train. The only issue with Win11 that I have heard of is that some programs like RailWorks\Utilities.exe do not seem to work for everybody because of a codepage issue. Think we got that CRH380D thing sorted now.
Yeah, I am also considering uninstalling Train Simulator and installing it again soon because the program keeps crashing in 32-bit as well unless if it takes time for the program crashing problem to go away.
Hey! Guess what? When I opened the door in CRH380D - Dawn Service, the program did not crash until after the door opened at the next station. So do you think it will take time for the program crashing problem to go away or how do I fix the scenario problems?
