Hi, I have a problem. Everytime I go onto the "[Turbine] Through the Storm Over Sherman" activity after the somehow loading scene ends, the screen is black and the loading never completes so it really takes forever to load completely, eventhough I use Windows 11. So how do you think I can fix the problem? Because I am worried that it may never work. Thank you so much for your help. Sincerely, Connor Richey
The weather blueprint used in that scenario has a flaw, it doesn't work with the new code. (Specifically weather pattern <BlendInTime> must be greater than zero, which it is not here.) Here's the fix:
Use a file decompressor such as 7zip to open the UPTurbineWeatherFix.zip. You will then see a folder called Assets. Take this folder and drag and drop it into the folder called Railworks. Do you have 7zip installed? Have you ever used it before? If it askes you if you want to overwrite any files choose yes.
It won't overwrite anything, just places a "Weather" folder including the fixed blueprint next to the Turbine assets .ap.
Well, I think I tried that and it did not work, eventhough I didn't see the "Railworks" folder perhaps because I replaced it with the "F40PHLPack01" folder.
Your Railworks folder has EVERYTHING in the game, trains, buildings, routes. Without it your game does not run. Check again in steamapps/common for a Railworks Folder
Thank you for your reported success. Reports that an installed fix is or is not successful is always good feedback. Also, If you had an issue that you asked for help about and you found the fix yourself please post your solution instead of "fixed it". Others may have the same issue.
This procedure is mostly the same for all community patches and mods. Can't be bothered to use Utilities.exe (taking ages to Refresh) to make .rwp files any more. Glad it worked
Wish I had found this thread before I reverted to well before any of the new core updates. If I ever update the core again I'll try this patch. In my testing I was convinced it had to do with the PAUSE variable that gets used the second the scenario loads. I hadn't seen any other Turbine scenarios start paused. Glad to know someone figured it out!
