Quote The BR101 Expert and Cab-Car are compatible with a few other locomotives in the game. IMPORTANT NOTE: This compatibility does not include Expert Level features. Traction compatibility: BR101 Expert: Vectron, BR218, BR111 Cab-Car: Vectron, BR218, BR111 End Quote Specifically talking about the shut down features of the Expert stock. I managed to get a full start up and brake release of a BR218, when starting from an electrical shut down state. However even with the cab car asking for power and the Loco giving said power, the train wouldnt budge. All handbrakes are off, all brake pipe indicators say 5 Bar and Empty Cylinders. A) am i missing something? B) is that the part that means the 218 isnt functional with the expert features? I would love to know even if im told I was stuipd for even trying having read that part of the manual, then atleast I can save time not trying it in future.
Are both ends of the train set to the same MU protocol? IIRC, the 218 defaults to KWS. And are the coaches Dostos or n-Wagen?
As far as I know yes. The 286 cab car doesnt use an MU switch as its labelled out of service. And the 218 was set to ZWS. Like i say everything on the gauges was showing brakes off and power being supplied. No idea
Hey, manual author here: This part does indeed mean that you should be able to drive the Cab-Car with a 218 acting as the pushing loco. I even tested that a few months ago in the Training Centre. I am trying it now, and I indeed am encountering a problem it seems. Trying to use the shortcut to quickly change between the Cab-Car and the loco doesn't work well, and the SPS/ZWS fault/status light remains on...I wonder if this is a core issue or a DLC specific issue. Are there any extra steps that you have taken besides coupling up the 218, setting the reverser to neutral, the brakes to off and then moving to the Cab-Car?
Hiya, the 218 was already coupled as part of a formation designer thing Front ->>> Rear Loco, 2x Avmmz, 2x Bpmmz, Cab-Car However after spawning I then went to the Cab Car 1st as I had placed the loco up against buffers. I think used the screen to set the consist to "long layover". And then I began with the diesel engine and that end before then setting up the cab-car. I didnt have the 218 reverser in, I took it out after she was fully fired up. Was that a step needed?
Id have to go back and check which i cant currently do today. But i know i obtained a brake release and the power needle had moved off from 0 even uo as high as 80 with no movement
