Hi guys, I think it is a good idea to create a new route in Germany, especially in Berlin. My suggestion: The line S2 (S-Bahn service) between Bernau and Blankenfelde via Blankenburg, Berlin Gesundbrunnen, Berlin Friedrichstraße, Berlin Potsdamer Platz, Berlin Südkreuz and Berlin Lichtenrade. This line has a length of 46.4 km and 28 stations (6 stations in the North-South S-Bahn Tunnel). Between Bornholmer Straße and Priesterweg runs by the way the lines S25 and S26, then seperates these lines to Teltow Stadt. Locos for that route: 481/482 series
Berlin is always a good suggestion, but it also means a lot of work as there is so much to see here! There are German developers, like Virtual Tracks, who have a lot of experience with the implementation of S-Bahn routes in Berlin. In 2021 they released an S-Bahn addon for the TSC called: "Heart of Berlin". But you have to decide for yourself whether you dare to take the step for an Unreal Engine implementation. Ultimately, what applies to all developers who want to develop something for TSW also applies: practice, practice, practice. Berlin also has its own S-Bahn trains, which do not run anywhere else in Germany. Which will also be the reason why so far only S-Bahn trains from the Rhine/Main area have been implemented in TSW. These can also be used across the country, as seen with the BR423 in Munich. Another option is a route to or from Berlin, where S-Bahn lines run parallel to normal tracks. The main thing is that Berlin comes up at all. Without the (railway) capital of Germany something important is missing in the German TSW route network. It feels a bit like British content without the (railway) capital of the UK. London is so far integrated into 4 routes, with 3 different main train stations and a underground line. I'll also give you a little jump-start, with an extra collage! Always helpful to have some saved pictures on the hard drive.
Heart of Berlin is nice in TSC, imagine with a full all day timetable compiled by Joe. Might need a bit of localisation to translate the German radio messages leading up to train despatch at stations.
Südkreuz and the Hauptbahnhof are two of my wishes for a Berlin route, with both S-Bahn services and ICE services running through these stations, which you can also drive. I thought of something like this: Berlin Hbf Hoch with S-Bahn services, Regio services and ICE services going through Südkreuz Tief AND Hoch, aswell as Berlin Hbf Tief leading also to Südkreuz and somewhere else, so theres a mix of everything, and everything is connected with everything. the Ringbahn would be nice too. Also, if i made some mistakes, if something isnt connected with something, im sorry
A suggestion for a Berlin route is always going to have my support. I find it very interesting how everything works over there. I'd love to see it.
I think it’s time for a U Bahn route soon, tsw has been going on for over 5 years now so I’m surprised that with the density of German routes we don’t have a U Bahn
"Stadtbahn" is the long term for S-Bahn So no, it's not a line. It's the whole thing (the lines with the 3rd rails). What most people calls Stadtbahn is the part between Ostbahnhof and Charlottenburg. That section is part of plenty of lines (3,5,7,9).
Berlin U bahn would be a real treat. It hasn’t even been made for Train Sim Classic as far as I’m aware which is odd as they have Frankfurt and Hamburg U Bahn. I say odd as Berlin is the Capital !!!. I’m sure TSG ^^^ would do a great job of the Berlin U Bahn. Who knows
Fair enough, thought Stadtbahn was the name of the line itself. I suppose the point stands, there is indeed an S-Bahn line on, well, the S-Bahn (Need to take some more German lessons, me thinks)
Not really interested in the Berlin U-Bahn. When i came to Berlin in 1986, as a kid, it was some kind of interesting to drive under the soil, but that interest gone away fast. U-Bahn is boring, dirty, loud and since a few years quite dangerous.
Berlin S-Bahn though is quite hellfire in TSC. I am not averse to more underground routes in TSW but it needs to be something iconic and interesting, older trains and definitely not ATO.
That was not my experience with the U-Bahn when I was there 2 months ago. While not being the cleanest it was nowhere near what is described here, it was however loud, it was fun too. Some of the stations look quite cool as well.
