Now that the crashing has finally ended for me on PS5, thought I would give a few services a go. So doing 1F01 6:11 Haywards Heath to Victoria, I end up joining the queue of stuck trains just before Battersea Park. Now observing the map and using the free camera, there is a Gatwick Express train barely moving if at all on the Up fast with its headlights lit up on the wrong end. So I abandon my service and walk up to see what is going on. Hop on board and at the end facing Battersea when you try to sit in the seat it asks you to take over 1W12. So I ignore it, walk the 12 coaches to where the AI driver is sitting facing Victoria, again try to sit in the seat and this time asks if I want to take over 1W10. So I quit the game and start up 1W10 and the very first instruction is to split the 12 car you spawn on. I then close the game again and spawn on foot at Victoria at 6:10 to see if the AI splits the train. And it does. And both trains leave fine. So I decide to load up 1F01 again and see what happens at Victoria using the map. Rather than there being a 12 car on P14 at Victoria, you end up with the picture below: (Affected train is the one to the left of the training icon) When the train finally moves, the missing carriages appear out of nowhere and the 12 carriage train comes to a halt over Battersea bridge. As the game hasn’t split the train, it’s confused as it’s got one consist assigned to 2 services. And slowly the trains start to stack up causing gridlock. I have noticed with 1F01 that it doesn’t start at 06:11:00 but at 06:11:18, which happens to be when 1W10 and 1W12 are in the process of splitting. So to sum up, if you spawn in the game whilst AI trains are meant to be attaching/detaching, you may run in to trouble. The short term get around is to spawn on foot just before the service starts. It’s just a theory as it’s the only occurrence I’ve had so far so could be something different all together. Probably should of put this in the technical reports section but was wondering if anyone else could try and see if the same thing happens to them and it’s not just me!
