Okay i really dont know why this is happening and i am trying to look for a way to reinstall the missing link route too (how do i do that?) But basically the problem is that it is specifically signal CE149, the signal for platform 6 at Crewe. If you check my pathing on the 3rd image. The pathing should've worked but for some reason it is specifically when I tried going through platform 6 the signal refuses to change. And in fact i tried checking other pathing, even platform 11 works and oddly enough it is only when you put your train at platform 6 at the start of the scenario the signal works. So i dont understand why platform 6 signal doesnt work properly at all. And yes i already tried contacting ATS support, even they dont know.
So ATS, who made this route, don't know the answer. Not sure if anyone on here would. What happens if you put some more passing locations in the timetable - like near Crewe Coal Yard? What happens if you route via CE 151 and then Fast Line?
Is there a way in the timetable option where you can route via signals? Or is that not a thing? doing this in standard scenario
If wast to make a train take a route you have to include passing locations in your timetable. There is nothing in your timetable to say the train should travel over the fast or slow lines. Put more locations in - like Yarrow Viaduct Down Fast - and the train would take that route.
Gave that a try, even I even have delete the entire route, then reinstalled it. But still nothing, below images are from a quick test standard scenario. You can clearly see down in the 2nd image the pathing works is the signal that they arent reacting. if i know how to fix the signal I would've.
You would need to contact the author to understand what pathways were ‘possible’. You may well see that a path is useable. This does not mean that the code used allows this to happen. Sadly I think you will not be able to fix this anomaly. You will just need to work round it.
What is it with people who think if One small thing does not work they need to Reinstall the entire route? You will have fun if you get a Car - having to take the engine out and because a Bulb had gone.. As I suggested - route the train via CE 151 further down P6 by going over Crewe North Jn on the Down Slow Then Cross to the Down Fast at Crewe Coal Yard
In fairness - it is not always blindly obvious as to whether you have the latest version of the route installed. As this is a subscription based route, I would of thought it was a good idea to resinstall the route, just to ensure you have the latest version of the route to see if the problem has had a fix applied. The next time you come to look at the route and want to reinstall, your subscription might of expired!
i had did delete the route first and then reinstalled the route, and moved the scenario back into the route. But yea problem did not solve. I will give that a try.
I am assuming that there is a Free Roam option on this route? I do own it but have so many other things I am working on. Is it possible to route a train via this link using Free Roam?
I just setup a standard scenario as per your last pic. From Basford Hall to Winsford via Platform 6. It worked ok.
Fast line, Peter. Hmm. I'm a little confused now. OP, did you install the ATS WCML Midlands & Northwest 1.4 installer? That is the file I got when I downloaded the missing link from ATS.
okay so i doubled checked, what i downloaded is indeed 1.4 Ngl the only thing that i havent told is that when i was installing, is that i am missing the ATW version of the crewe to holyhead route, but since the Tfw version have that already covered i dont think that is an issue.
okay idk why did i do something wrong or something, I tried opening up a new free roam scenario and set up a train and for some reason i cant even drive the train, and ever only put a a.i traffic after having to put the driver thingy on to the train- did i do something wrong? Tried this method- and honestly i just want to give up, that or the route that i got is just have a buggered signal...
Wait…that is not the procedure? Kidding of course. There are strange bugs, but given someone else got the path working, there is something (maybe in the network) that is not set right.
Won't everyone be on the same version of the route? ludwigtails - try the scenario again but change the class 90 for any diesel - it might be track properties Have a look at the route and check the Track is Electrified - Go in to the Editor at Crewe and then press the Spacebar a few times until you get to this view When you look at the track if any of the route has Black Background with the Electrification crossed out you cannot run Electric trains Ignore the Overhead Wires - they are just there for show.
Actaully before i do the test, i am very confused, if i can run my class 90 via CE149 before (no matter is it slow or fast) even pass the red signal and i can still move. Doesnt that already mean that the tracks are already overhead wired powered?
Yes. I don't have the route so I did not know that. I tried a test on the only Crewe I have which is from the North Wales route I could create a scenario where a class 90 went from P6 to a location just beyond the junction called Down Liverpool Slow then reversed and back in to P10 - and that worked. When I tried a scenario to reverse at the Down Liverpool Fast it won't let me. So - Do a test with anything to depart from P6 at Crewe and run over the Down Slow to Winsford
well i did a test through all sorts of tracks. crewe is just so bugged i cant even drive through without encountering a red. the only way i can get through a red signal without a the brakes coming on is that i have to turn off the DSD on the 90. Check the timetamps for the different route tests.
check the attachements, apart from going via platform 12 which for some reason i forgot to take. This is the pathing that i made for the video.
You never know. It might have worked on an older version but may be bugged now. Remember the SSS route signals?
I'm currently using the latest version v77.6b. The public beta 78.1a was released almost a year ago with some fixes and some new bugs. After that DTG ditched the development of TSC, so now we are left with a buggy 77.6b. Some people have rolled back to version ~75.x from what I've read on this forum. Its up to you what bugs you want to have. It's just a total mess.
thats reallllly messed up. I mean its just the same as TSW (a lot of bugs arent fixed even in there...) how do i even revert versions??? What do i do now??
Apart from this signal at Crewe what other routes are causing a problem? If there are a lot of main problems - like the route won't load then look at reverting If its just odd scenarios that I would not bother - it would be too much messing around
i did a rerun of my standard scenario from stafford to preston with a stop at Crewe. And the ONLY problem through the entire run is really the stuck red signal at Crewe where i have to wait until i get pass the red signal and release the emergency brakes before going full speed again. And as far as I know i dont think other routes have problems such as this. And i was hoping to put down A.i trains in my scenario but i dont think i can put any in that part of the scenario because of the stuck red signal.
There is a new upload at Train Sim Community that say it uses the AP Signal Enhancement Pack to correct the signalling across the WCML Midlands & Northwest v4 route. You may want to check it out to see if it corrects the issues with signalling at Crewe. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...-ats-wcml-midlands-northwest-signalling-patch
actually something i was also told about on facebook. for some reason they suggest to me get the AP signal EP. Which the base missing link route doesnt even need yet here i am paying extra just to fix signal in ONE location... man why do i have to pay to get bug fixes...
Just because someone on FB suggested to buy the AP Signal EP does not mean it will fix it. Simply buying the AP Pack won't change the Signals on the route You would have to replace those signals yourself adding the links for the signals
that i dont know how... even what anakha99 posted about https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...-ats-wcml-midlands-northwest-signalling-patch that needed the signal EP to work to get the (potential) bug fixed.
It might be worth asking on that page to see if it fixes the signals at Crewe before getting the AP patch
On your Keyboard is the TAB key. When at a Red Signal you hit TAB and a message appears saying if you can pass the signal at Danger - or not.
