Ok, so I am trying to understand this problem, so far without luck. Played through over 10 times but PZB just hits the brakes.
I am driving BR 422 in the journey chapter 1, Aachen turnaround.
Before the first station I have a flashing green light with yellow 8 over it. this means I must reduce speed to 80 within 23 sec.
Before the 2nd station I have flashing green light with yellow 6 over it. This should mean I must reduce speed to 60 km/h within 23 sec, right?
When I pass these signals 1000 Hz doesn't appear on the HUD, what I don't understand why. Anyway I acknowledge just in case.
However whenever I pass the signals a bit over the indicated speed, pretty soon 1000Hz lights up together with orange G - and BANG - emergency brakes on.

What is wrong? What am I doing wrong? It could be something simple bit I am missing, but what?

You won't see the 1000hz until you press the PZB acknowledge (or it hits you with the breaks). I found it an issue at the start and found that I was just tapping the button instead of pressing it properly. As soon as pass the signal press PZB acknowledge firmly until you hear the buzzer briefly then the 1000hz should pop up and you slow down.

In addition to rejeeves' comment: you press acknowledge after you pass the signal; if you're going fast, it helps to start breaking before the signal; and the 23 sec time applies only to slowing to under 85 km/h. For other speed reductions (for example 80 -> 60), you're responsible for the timeframe - though if there's a speed checking magnet before the next signal and you're going too fast, it will brake you.
The yellow number should be under the signal and indicates an upcoming limit; a white number above the signal shows a speed limit that applies at that signal.

I think this might be down to the fact that you really need to hold down the PZB aknowledge button in the Talent 2. After you pass the signal, try holding it until you hear a sound and the 1000hz light comes on.

Thanks for all of your comments, I will try tonight again for the 12th time. I really hope pressing pg down button through the keyboard will do the job.
