I’m pretty sure I mentioned this last year but why is the Acela wheel slip go all crazy as soon as it becomes the winter months (about November to maybe January or February) it slips until about 2 miles off the target speed of using the speed set or anything above about 40 on the throttle. doesn’t seem to matter if it’s snow or not or rain or not. noticed on XSX
I noticed if you use cruise control it applies full power no matter what you set the power handle at so I just play without.
I have noticed that to (as well as the Acela has not received many updates since release) it still doesn’t get rid of the wheel slip issue though due to throttle handle issue above about 40 on the throttle, I can understand snow or rain being a bit difficult (not as much as current neither still though) but seems like a physics issue for dry weather.
I have no idea whether this is simulated or not, but in cold winter months, even if you have dry weather the rais are still going to be moist for much of the day due to (possible) ice/frost forming on the rails overnight, and temperature not being high enough for them to dry 100% I would have thought
First train or two of the day is going to condition the railhead and the weight per square inch between wheel and rail would not normally induce wheelslip providing care is taken, unless other factors such as leaf slime or grease are present.
I don’t think TSW would take that into account, and services I’ve tried were about 2pm so wouldn’t be the first train of the day.
