Evening all, I purchased the TSG BR 425 off of 3dzug on Thursday. I received the installer as well as a confirmation email, but without an activation code! Unfortunately, this is required to, well, activate the product. I have contacted 3dzug three times on their own customer support email, as as DMing them on Facebook, but I still haven't received a response. Is there anything I can do?
Why - it's available on Steam, much more convenient than this product activation / serial number / DRM / customer support hassle. According to what I've read on rail-sim.de, it may take a while before Matthias answers emails.... https://store.steampowered.com/app/1055335/Train_Simulator_DB_BR_425_EMU_AddOn/
I actually have this one already! Bought it on sale a while back but unfortunately it's not compatible with almost all scenarios and repaints.
It has a different asset path then, I see. (But it's the very same train). Are you sure the code is not in the email, or maybe listed next to the download on the shop site?
This is what it looks like on the email, I’ve opened it on several devices but there’s nothing there. On 3dzug, all I have is a payment confirmation number but this is not the activation code. I’ve also checked my spam folder, I haven’t received any emails from them.
Checking my last purchase.... the expert ICE1. Indeed the serial is not printed in the email. Must be listed in your account on the shop then. (can't remember myself). It seems I was never asked for any code when installing, as neither email nor my account lists any keys. Have you tried entering the order number? If not, you can only wait until Matthias is back from holidays presumably...
This is what I see on order page, no mention of an activation code anywhere. I’ve also purchased 3dzug’s ICE 4, which didn’t require a code and doesn’t have one mentioned.
Maybe they messed up the installer, a new version using serials which older DLC do not provide yet. If they don't answer and you want to use your purchased product, all I can say is do a google search on how to unpack installers. You might be able to do so and get to the Assets and Content folders inside the installer, and copy the files manually into RailWorks. After all, you have paid for the product. No one can demand patience from you after purchasing a digital download.
Here is a screenshot of my account landing page on 3DZug and it shows a 'My Orders' section where you can see that serial numbers are listed, while I dont have that particular product I expect it wouldnt be any different
There is a serial number on the store page https://www.3dzug.de/product_info.php?info=p413_br-425-pro-line.html
Thanks all! Managed to install it now. One thing I find odd is that that serial number only comes up when I’m logged out of my account, which might explain why I couldn’t see it
