Similar to last year, when New York to Trenton dropped, people were suggesting LIRR AI layer to be in the route (to add a Variety to Traffic instead of making it only NJT and Amtrak around Sunnyside Yard and New York Penn) which the AI was only seen in Scenarios until Train Sim World 4's release.Same with LIRR Commuter, Amtrak layers are only moving in some scenarios such as Double Duty (from what I know) but for NY To Trenton, the timetable update took quite the time to add but in the end made NYP and Sunnyside yard more active. I wanted to suggest LIRR Commuter having the same treatment with AI Services to add variety around Penn Station, and Sunnyside yard. Being able to see Amtrak AI movement around Harold Interlocking and SSY and NJT from Penn to Sunnyside Yard. The LIRR Commuter timetable is amazing, but I feel like it would be 100% better with more traffic variety around the Queens and Manhatten part of the route. And also a few questions for this suggestion

At the timestamp 1:09:29 in the LIRR Commuter preview stream https://www.youtube.com/live/fPGwTApeIlY?si=vQ6hoNsJUGCwxKWX

Matt was talking about how the developers would be able to copy the NYT Timetable and port it over to replace the static AI (which I think is what he was talking about) But no plans to add it anytime soon.

    If it does get added

-Will adding Moving NJT and Amtrak AI affect performance?, Since in NYT it did effect performance and caused lots of stutters even to people with the best of the best GPUs, and didnt get a fix until a couple months later after the timetable was released.

-Will adding these layers cause the entire Timetable to get revamped (which could take months of work just like NYT which is normal for big timetables)

-Was that idea for copying the NYT timetable onto LIRR Commuter scrapped entirely ever since it was mentioned on the LIRR Commuter preview stream.

Am happy with LIRR 2.0 so far. Honestly part of me really wants to see active Amtrak & NJT layers on the brand new LIRR. I think it’s because I rail fanned Penn Station and Harold Interlocking a few times in real life and seen all the trains from Amtrak & NJT running with LIRR to Penn Station. It’s kind of disappointing not being able to see that in game like you would in real life. I believe they didn’t do it due to concerns with the dispatcher and performance issues at Penn Station with all the traffic going on. If LIRR can layer onto NYT I think It should be vice versa and LIRR has that same treatment that NYT got if it’s possible.

If they can’t put active layers I would love to see is at least fill in the empty platforms with Amtrak ACS-64 & Acela being static at Penn instead of only seeing NJT. It will make the other side of Penn Station feel more full and realistic. I don’t know if the current NYT timetable would be compatible with the new LIRR timetable if so maybe make the NYT timetable less dense so it won’t cause issues with the new LIRR timetable. We haven’t had a US route for months till now so it would be cool to get that active layer in. It will make a huge difference if active layers were added between Penn & Sunnyside. Just imagining Amtrak going past you while driving a LIRR train.

I might be wrong on this but the question that JD was asking was about the M7 on LIRR2 being able to use on NYT timetable. Since right now you have to use LIRR1 for the long island M7.

Yeah I believe you’re right. Matt said they are thinking about making a copy of the NYT timetable with the new LIRR Trains so you won’t have to keep the old versions installed anymore
