There should be more weather options, like thunder, floods, storms, and basically more english weather events. also delays should be added for more realism, so like weather can cause delays sometimes
There is thunder and lightning but after some complaints that every period of rain seemed to result in a thunderstorm (I was one of the complainants) DTG seem to have dialed them back a bit. For context, we're over halfway through summer in my corner of the UK, we've had rain on 43 days since the start of May but we've had 2 thunderstorms and I live in the South East where thunder is most likely. I would say floods are fairly uncommon apart from in some prone spots on the network, but it's certainly becoming more common to see flooded fields next to rivers particularly in Autumn and Winter. The weather transitions need more work and there does need to be a greater variety. Frost is more common than snow in most of the UK but it's not featured and most precipitation in the UK is rain and another very common condition is just boring old "Cloudy" but we don't have that in random weather or sleet, wet snow and gales. The temperatures shown (while probably irrelevant) aren't very realistic. Random events in Timetable mode get my vote but again they have to proportional to real life experience. For every flooded track, there are 100s of signal issues, power loses, unit problems (door interlock issues being a common one), heatwave restrictions, high wind restrictions emergency alarms pulled, Temporary Speed Limits due to bad track/safety concerns, requests to run slowly to check the track/trackside for something, lineside fires, failed level crossings, heating/AC failures, fallen trees/branches and trespass incidents. Obviously DTG would do well to avoid some of the less savory random events that involve injuries and the like but I think such a feature could elevate TSW Timetable Mode immersion so, so much.
Similar to a suggestion I made - https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/disruption-mode.79518/. It would be really good to have things like this, and would make it so much more interactive. Even platform alterations would be cool.
