Now don't get me wrong we have lots of Railtour services however there is a couple of new ones I would make. What I will do is rank them with what routes have railtours starting with Southeastern High-Speed: The Kentish Explorer - LMS Jubilee (Dartford - Faversham) The Old Days - Class 43 (4 Mk3s) St Pancras Intl - Faversham East Coastway: The Southern Adventurer - LMS Jubilee + Class 47 (Lewes - Eastbourne) (Similar To The Railtour that happened a few months back with 44871) ScotRail Edinburgh - Glasgow: (Yup we now have multiple locos to select for one tour lol) Scottish Sightseeing - LMS Jubilee/Class 47/Class 52/Class 37 (Both Varients)/Class 40. (Edinburgh - Glasgow) Brighton Mainline (London - Brighton) Train To The Sea - LMS Jubilee + Class 47 (London - Brighton) Midland Mainline (Derby - Nottingham & Leicester) Midland Master - LMS Jubilee + Class 47 (Derby - Leicester) And that is just about all I can think of. Let's hope these will get added in the future.
Don't want to excite you too much but in May I might be returning to Swanage for the Diesel Gala where they have a 47, a peak/45 and a 40!
Ha don't worry. I've already seen that and managed to convince the wife that we should go to Swanage for the weekend. Obviously when we go there it will be a total coincidence that the railway have a gala on!
Well I hope you have fun when you go. Just waiting to see ticket prices before deciding to book. However I am actually heading to Swanage Railway on the 24th March. In my mind I have mapped out what I'm doing when I go. Cuz I am planning to take the 09:30 which is 76084 a special guest up to River Frome and going up and down the line + going to the Corfe Castle model village & the gift shop. I think the final train I am going on is 34028 Eddystone arriving back into Swanage at 17:13.
Mmm yes good idea the prices are a bit barmy for these sorts of things. It's quite a nice line and a shame it's a good 4 hour drive from where I live as I would go more often. Saying that I have got the Nene Valley Railway and Great Central Railway within about an hour from me (both of which have Peaks) so it's not like I haven't got somewhere to go!
Am currently considering if I should go. I am a fan of the selection however apparently (RailAdvent says it bit Swanages Website dosen't 4 some reason) 50021 Rodney will be there if it can't run 50026 Indomitable will take its spot if I do go I will make sure to get some good pics . Would be even nicer if they had a 4 car hst or something.
Would love some more railtour services. Having another railtour pack would be decent too with some Mk2s that aren’t just FO or TSO. Having a BSK or a BFK would be a nice addition.
