After getting a bit peeved with seeing the 'TSW3 Out Now' and 'Winter Sale' splash screens when playing TSW3, I had a bit of a rummage around and found the offending jpg files within the 'Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld3\Saved\LoadingScreens' folder. After downloading some nice wallpaper images (1920x1080) from t'internet, I replaced the splash screen files with my identically named downloads. Now instead of those ghastly adverts I am greeted with lovely high-res images of trains during my gameplay. A simple but satisfying change methinks...
Remember when the original TSW used to show you the routemaps and spec sheets about the trains? That was the best, I miss that. Wish they brought it back.
Don't worry, soon you will see some community screenshots from the screenshot competition which happens every week (check the creation centre if you don't know what I mean)
Yes that was brilliant mate and I do miss it as well. It would be nice to have something like this back.
Thanks for this. I have now finally got rid of the Holiday Express advert, and added my own image. Posted using mobile, as this thread doesn't allow me to post using my pc!
How did you get the TSW3 logo on it? I wanted to ask in the screenshot competition, but general discussion there should be limited. Nice screenshot though
The TSW3 logo can be found as splash.bmp inside the folder 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 3\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\Splash'. In order to use it on a picture it needs to be made into a PNG with transparency, so you can paste it on top of the image. Here's one of my replacement images using freely available windows wallpaper and the transparent logo. I have also uploaded a transparent logo for you to use - it should appear as a thumbnail under the below image...
Have you made any changes to the game, via the ini file or mods ? It looks a lot "darker" than my game. And that's good in my eyes ! So if there is anything you have done to make it look better, please let me know.
I reduced the contrast of the screen capture in photoshop as the games contrast seems slightly washed out. I'm trying to find a tutorial on how to adjust the games contrast and settings
Agreed! They should consider bringing those back, I thought the train spec sheets were really cool to look at while we wait for the game to load. On top of that, it'd be cool if they had infographics or something similar that highlights landmarks to look out for while running up and down the route. Little things like that make the experience just a bit better
