When I get the LZB Ende light when coming to the end of an LZB section, I perform an PZB release, but what’s the correct procedure to get AFB to work again? I can’t turn AFB off and on again as the button is on the rear wall of the cab. If I put the AFB lever to zero it causes the train to break. If I do nothing, I get no acceleration when leaving the LZB area.

I’m sure I’m just not following the correct procedure, but a bit confused on this one. I think on other trains, I would turn AFB off, move the lever to zero and back to the desired speed and turn AFB back on. However I can’t do this on the ICE 1.

    • Throttle to zero
    • AFB to Zero
    • AFB to Full Speed (throttle at 0 and AFB at full resets AFB)
    • AFB to Desired Speed
    • Throttle to desired postion.

I imagine IRL is quite seamless, as you can quickly reset AFB to zero and full speed by single, quick, level motion.

Thanks. So maybe I’m just not moving the leaver quick enough (zero and then to max). It’s quite slow when using the controller. I’ll try with the cursor next time.

I have had Train Sim for years and never used the German safety systems as they confused me. Yesterday I tried a service with them ALL on and was amazed when LZB litteraly drove the train for me, It slowed down for speed limits and even stopped me at a red signal. I did not even know this was a thing.
