Ahrtalbahn: Bonn - Remagen - Ahrbrück - Country: Germany - Route Length: Bonn - Remagen: 21km, Remagen - Ahrbrück: 29km A few words about the route The Ahrtalbahn is a railway line that runs from Bonn to Ahrbrück. The Ahrtalbahn is served by two lines operated by DB Regio NRW. One is the RB 30, which covers the entire Ahrtalbahn route from Ahrbrück to Bonn and the other is the RB 39, which operates the section from Dernau to Remagen. ℹ️ It's important to note that in 2021 the Ahrtal was severely affected by a devastating flood disaster which caused extensive damage to the region. The Ahrtalbahn is currently undergoing a major reconstruction, with plans to reopen the entire route up to Ahrbrück by the end of 2025. The line is currently operational only between Bonn and Walporzheim. As a result there is the possibility of representing the route either in its current post-flood state or after the reconstruction is completed. For this route, several scenarios could be considered: 1. "When Talent 1 trains were still in operation..." This would have the advantage of having existing trains in place. We already have the Talent 1 in TSW. - Talent 1 Possible layers: - IC/ICE traffic - BR 146 and Dostos - Freight traffic 2. In it's current state with LINT trains As time passed, the Talent 1 trains were phased out in favor of newer, more modern rolling stock. DB Regio NRW now uses LINT 54 for RB 39 (Dernau - Remagen) and LINT 81 for RB 30 (Bonn - Ahrbrück). - LINT 81 / BR 620 - LINT 54 / BR 620 (The images included here are NOT my own.) Possible layers: - IC/ICE traffic - BR 146 and Dostos OR Desiro HC / BR 460 (National Express) - Freight traffic What are your thoughts on this route? Excellent idea overall end before 1945 it ends on the other side of the Rhine using the bridge that got destroyed. In TSW 4 one can remake this route and use the Ludendorfbrücke
