It would be nice if the AI services had a minimum direction change time, which could vary depending on the length of the train. Currently, they will stop and then immediately start moving again in the other direction. This is especially noticeable in Glasgow Cathcart Circle at Neilston turnback siding and in the depot at Shields. Same issue also applies in ECW at Lovers Walk Depot. Another issue is that the AI is unable to change headlight settings when changing direction.
Yeah, I've noticed this myself on occasion and it can be pretty annoying. It feels pretty unrealistic when you're seeing an AI train do that (you see it a lot too on Peninsula Corridor's San Jose Depot), but also because the timetable doesn't consider the time either, so if you do everything on foot for immersion's sake you're bound to take some hits on your score or at least just not be on time.
