I think there should be a higher chance that an AI Train uses a Custom Livery. I've only seen it happen once on LGV. Also, I think we should be able to pick the liveries that the AI Trains spawn with.
Hmmm, on PS4 my liveries show up all the time on LGV, to the point I had to delete a bunch of them because I didn't like seeing them in service mode. I'd sooner it be a feature you can turn on and off, maybe select the probability, because sometimes I really don't want to see them.
That's the thing though, I've only seen a custom livery appear on an AI Train on LGV, but not on other routes like BKL, IOW, HMA, or SKA.
I have also noticed that you only really see your liveries on LGV, i've seen them once or twice on SKA notably, but LGV is definitely showing more of your own liveries. Personally I would like to see a way to enable & disable certain liveries on timetable mode, but there definitely seems to be a lack of custom liveries showing.
More than that you should be able to set how often or even if the livery should appear. Some liveries are made just for use with scenario planner on a different route and wouldn't on their native one. Also, the game seems to be selecting just one or two liveries from your collection. I have about 7 liveries for SPG locos and only bump into one of them all the time on AC4400. Never bump into the other ones or the ones I have for SD40-2. Give us an option to set the frequency of appearance - always/frequently/normally/rarely/one of a kind/never. We could assign this parameter to a livery and the game would follow this. If you wanted to make SPG a UP route, you'd have liveries for all locos and set them to appear on all locos. If you have a unique livery, you'd set it so that the game can only have it on one loco in the session.
That is an interesting idea, DTG have applied the trainbow livery to a specific Javelin, so I wonder if a livery designer update could allow us access to a fleet roster for each train, and allowing us to apply a specific livery to a specific train.
I see my liveries all the time on SPG. Except the covered hopper and tank car reskins (which apparently don't work). I think there should be an option that you can decide how often a livery spawns when you create it.
I think that would be a great thing to add to the game. It could be the beginnings of a possible "Timetable Creator".
