Air Brake Decoupling Snap

    In real life on American railroads, the air brake and MU cables that are attached to each other underneath the couplers on railcars get pulled apart automatically when decoupling and make a very loud snap sound. Instead of floating around and being detached right away, have the cables remain connected until they are pulled apart by the force of the locomotive. Watch the video below.

    Great idea! I knew something was off when uncoupling cars. This would add to the realism of switching in a yard or making set-outs.

    Correction there's no MU cables on railcars ONLY on the locomotives themselves, it's that BIG thick cable that you see on front/back of a locomotive that links the locomotives together and those you connect and disconnect by hand, if you don't, you could damage the MU cable and those are not cheap it's like $30,000 a piece (due to the fiber optics) and plus you could damage the whole entire MU linkage, thus making it very expensive to replace.

    But other beside that, you are correct.
