    About
The Alaska Railroad (reporting mark ARR) is a Class II railroad that operates freight and passenger trains in the state of Alaska. The railroad's mainline runs between Seward on the southern coast and Fairbanks, near the centre of the state. It passes through Anchorage and Denali National Park, to which 17% of visitors travel by train.

The railroad has 656 miles (1,056 km) of track, including sidings, rail yards and branch lines. The main line between Seward and Fairbanks is over 470 miles (760 km) long. The branch to Whittier conveys freight railcars interchanged with the contiguous United States via rail barges sailing between the Port of Whittier and Harbor Island in Seattle.

I am suggesting the section between Anchorage and Talkeetna, this would be about would be about 113 mi (181 km).

You must have read that DTG currently have a hiatus on doing anything North American involving freight railroads. So unless a third party decides to undertake this, little to no chance of getting built even though a very appealing prototype.

DTG didn't said they wouldn't do never again an american freight route. They only said they will not make it in the near future. That's why it is possible to make suggestions here.

I don't see this happening without good support from the ARR themselves. For 1, the passenger services would be a must for this route (Something the TSC version lacked) but given the lack of support of the other Class 1 railroads, this isn't likely. Also the later made SD70MAC's that the ARR use are unique being HEP equipped, something that no one else really uses (Aside from the SD70MACH's on Metra)

I just dont see it happening without the correct support of the ARR.

I get that, just tempering expectations with a bit of realism.
