Why does it show so much promise but deliver so little. I worked on the railway for a few years Underground and Main Line and it was never like this. Example just drove Nottingham to Leicester 6am did not see one AI on the drove. Big problem AI traffic not enough off it. Hardly ever stop at a red signal so all you doing is driving from A to B, there are others, i know its a game but this is just my opinion. What does every body thinks. I still enjoy playing but could be so much better. I do have it on PC and Xbox 9th gen. This is not having ago DTG as there might be reason and as i said do enjoy playing.
This is pretty much the reason why I hope the TSW modding community grows as much as possible, just feels like that despite how far the game has gotten, there's a whole lotta chunks missing out of it.
There's a skilled community out there, and TSW Editor allows making your own timetables and share them thanks to a cooking mod. This only works for PC though, and console modding is not doable any time soon. It would need the modder to have a console dev kit to test. And then send it to DTG, which would have to test it too before releasing it through the official channels. Can't see that ever happening.
As far as I'm aware, most games that allow mods to be ported to consoles don't require or even ship out console devkits to modders with the only exception being Flight Simulator I guess..? Unless Unreal Engine has a downright nightmarish process that's different, most of the compatibility evaluation and testing would be done by DTG.
Do you have the required dlc. And did you check the dlc in the layers before you start your route. Coz that where the layers will be before you drive.
Isn't driving a train in reality just going from point A to point B. Or moving item A to Item B? Do you want it to fly or float? Personally I find MML very nice with the AI.
There are plentiful AI services if you have all the dlc or at least the ones for the relevant layers on your chosen route.
updating all the timetables to have ai is a massive amount of work. In some cases, you are remaking the timetable from scratch like how ska is being made. Then there's the simulation of it which takes a while and you have to go in and fix the services causing trouble. Timetables are mainly passion projects done in a single devs own free time. You also have to consider not every train or operator is in tsw
