The "Allgäubahn" between Kempten and Lindau is a double-track & diesel route and has a length of about 89km between Kempten Hbf and Lindau Hbf (+20km brench between Immenstadt and Oberstdorf). At the one end there is Kempten, the "home" of all trains from "DB Regio Allgäu". At the other end there is Lindau Hbf (already existing in TSW), where you have a beautiful view to switzerland and austria across the "Bodensee". In 2010, there was a lot of traffic, regional and long distance, sometimes also freight. The good thing: We already have most of the trains from this era in TSW: Regional: -Br 218 with n-Wagen and Doppelstockwagen -Br 612 -Br 642 -Br 628 Long distance (between Oberstdorf and Kempten) -Br 218 with IC coaches Freight: -Br 294 -Upcoming Br 232 -Class 66 But some trains are missing for this era of the route: -Swiss Eurocity coaches (these can be replaced by the regular DB IC coaches) -Länderbahn Alex trains (Br223 and mostly Bm coaches) (these can be replaced by regular DB regional trains, like the Br 218 with n-wagen) I added some pictures of the Allgäubahn and its trains around 2010: Br 612 at Kempten Hbf with a lot of snow SBB Eurocity on it's way to munich Br 218 with typical regional train Steam train passing Oberstaufen, the highest point on the Allgäubahn between Kempten and Lindau. Fun fact: Nex to the train station, there is the only tunnel on this route. Regional Train to Oberstdorf meeting the Intercity to Dortmund at Sonthofen
nice length and more chance to do some German diesel, interesting ... would love a route with 246s tho, to experience 160 kph capable modern diesel loco
