you make a post and later you are like "hey im wrong about this i wanna delete" but there is no button to do this i had this happen to me before and i find i have to report my own thread and say "this is my post and i want it deleted" so how about you add a proper button to let us delete our unwanted threads.
I think this would just cause too many arguments where some annoying person decides to create a good , detailed thread then just ruin all the feedback and delete it and annoy everyone . Too many risks
There's no need to change anything. If you accidentally start a thread, and decide you don't like it, just edit your post and put in the text "Delete Me", and then edit the thread title and put in the phrase "Delete Me". Or... you can re-purpose the thread with some other topic related to that part of the Forum. But - if someone has responded to your OP, then giving you the power to delete the entire thread is effectively giving you moderator controls over other people (and they are extreme moderator controls). And that isn't really fair on any responders. Plus - you'd open up the possibility of some seriously bad malarkey, like people starting threads just to annoy other people, with a prior intention to delete the thread when they heat up and the damage is done - you'd create pure flame-thrower threads, where the person starting it dsssolves it as and when they want to, and only if they want to..... It could get quite nasty. Even amongst train simulator fanatics... ;-O So - there is no problem with the system as it is. The Forum is actively moderated by very sensible people, and if you make a mistake, then don't worry about it too much - use it as a learning opportunity. ;-)
