The route from Rostock to Stralsund is a single-track route with a length of 72 kilometres. The stations between Rostock-Kassebohm and Ribnitz-Damgarten West are not modernized, while the stations from Ribnitz-Damgarten Ost to Stralsund Hbf and Rostock Hbf are modern. The highest speed on this route is 160 km/h. A regionalbahn left this route for driving through a big forest 10 km to Graal-Müritz. There are IC (or since 12/2018 also ICE) trains which are calling at Ribnitz-Damgarten West and Velgast. The IC drives with a BR 101 (in the past also BR 120.1), the ICEs are operating with the BR 411 (ICE-T). They are driving mostly every 2 hours. The RE9 operates every 2 hours between Rostock and Stralsund, since 12/2019 with the BR 4746 from the ODEG (Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH). Between 12/2007 and 12/2019, DB Regio Nordost was operating with the BR 429 (Flirt 1). Before that, they operated with the BR 143 and 3 Dostos. Since 12/2019, there is a RE10 2 times per day, which is also operating with the BR 4746. Until 12/2012, there was the S3 of the S-Bahn Rostock to Rostock Seehafen. The rolling stock was very different, mostly this line operated with the BR 642 or BR 628. The RB12 is calling at every station between Rostock and Rövershagen and drives on the non-electrified route to Graal-Müritz with the BR 642. There are also some freight trains, which could start at Rostock Seehafen Süd (Dierkow). BR 143: BR 429: BR 4746: BR 642: BR 628.4: BR 101: BR 411: Rostock Hbf: Rostock-Kassebohm: Rostock Seehafen: Bentwisch: Rövershagen: Graal-Müritz: Gelbensande: (This WSSB level crossing is still there) Ribnitz-Damgarten West: Velgast: Stralsund-Grünhufe: Stralsund Hbf: My suggestion for a DLC: 72 km long route Rostock - Stralsund BR 143 with Dostos OR BR 429 OR BR 4746 (ODEG) BR 642 (RB12) Optional: 10 km route Rövershagen - Graal-Müritz Optional: Complete Seaport of Rostock Timetable: RE9 RB12 RE10 (only if the BR 4746 is included) S3 (only if the BR 4746 isn't included) IC/ICE (if the player owns the BR 101 DLC) Freight (if the player owns some DLCs with Freight) Possible Loco-DLCs in future: BR 298 (shunting in Rostock Seehafen) BR 628 (substitution for S3 and also for RB12 rarely) BR 4746 (additional timetable) BR 143 (additional timetable) BR 411
I like that suggestion a lot and I support it because I want to have the ice T in the game and the route also sounds very interesting, but I would like to have much longer routes in TSW2, because there is much more to do and it takes longer to get from A to B
Excellent route and speaking of the DB BR143 that's your RRO & RSN Dosto coach locomotive. If made in-game then you own Main Spessart Bahn former Deutsche Bundesbahn route the DB BR146.2 can substitute for DB BR143 services.
Nice suggestion, especially since this route has some single-track portions, that will make for some very interesting gameplay.
I really want to drive the BR 642 and BR 429 so this route would be great. I'd buy it as soon as it came out
Personally love this suggestion , ideally I'd like the Flirt and the ICE-T to be included, and the possibility for a BR143+DoStos substitution, the rest can be "borrowed" from older content (BR101, and freight). Considering these days we only seem to get 1 completely new train and a recycled one I'd say ICE-T + BR143 would make me happy.
Rostock-Stralsund railway (Wikipedia english) Bahnstrecke Rostock Stralsund I once lived 100 meters away from this route (especially the station Ribnitz-Damgarten Ost) and even wanted to suggest it on my own, but - boom - the suggestion is already there. A few sidenotes: Living long time not there anymore, It's really amazing to see how this line has been upgraded in the last 16 years. I can confirm that the sentence "Between 12/2007 and 12/2019, DB Regio Nordost was operating with the BR 429 (Flirt 1). Before that, they operated with the BR 143 and 3 Dostos." is one hundred-procentally true. I only know the line with the BR 143 and 3 Dostos operating the route. Often were in them, when either traveling to Rostock or Stralsund and it's completely surprising to see so many trains running on it today (including an ICE -wow!). And many freight trains came at night time. The sound of the level crossing next to RD Ost station you could hear from the distance. That's also intersting to know, because I got the impression it were more like the opposite. Ribnitz Ost seems to have been upgraded lately, but it was just an abandoned station when I lived there and the route from RD Ost to Stralsund was full of mostly empty stations. By the way, a few things to add to this suggestion (which I otherwise had attached to my own one) : A cab ride from Rostock to Stralsund with a Talent 2 (unfortunately some cuts here and there): Also important to add that the route of the RE9 at the Dosto time (and I think also still today) sometimes is runninge up to Sassnitz on the island of Rügen in full. So the route suggestion could be expanded to there and run over the Ziegelgrabenbrücke and the Strelasund belt between Stralsund and Rügen (on the left side the new Strelasund bridge for car traffic - since 2007): Map:
