I’m not sure how possible this suggestion would be in practise - but it mainly applies for those on console.

Specifically on American freight locomotives/routes which don’t have the traditional two torn horn, could the shift function (Holding Down X or Square + Clicking left stick) be used to activate and deactivate the bell?

Yessss!!! I ask for this at least once a year. On console it is such a pain to look away from the windshield and find the bell every time to activate and deactivate it. When I saw the TSW5 screen close-up feature (which is great!), I even said to myself 'but no damn bell alt function?'

This would be a great addition to the PS5 control scheme. Trying to find the bell button in the cab is a nuisance, which means I tend to avoid using the bell. A shame really because it adds to the immersion on American routes.

If I’m in the cab already it doesn’t bother me too much. For me it’s not too much to just manually turn off the bell, but if I’m in an external view and sounding the horn you can’t turn off the bell unless you go into the cab again.

I know it isn’t perhaps the most prominent issue with TSW, but for those specific trains it feels like we have essentially 2 control buttons / combinations (Left Stick Click / Toggle Shift + Left Stick Click) for one horn sound, and feel maybe the Toggle Shift + Left Stick combination could be better utilised - though I’m far from an expert in how TSW, or any game for that matter is programmed.
