Just like selecting a different timetable within a route, make different time periods selectable when applicable. This could be used to make existing routes in a different time period, potentially alongside adding older or newer rolling stock. For example: removing station refurbishments and electrification when adding the London Overground Class 172, for a 2010s era version of the Suffragette Line. You could also group the Isle of Wight routes together. These different time periods would still be sold separately, but would be grouped under the same route, and selectable as a different time period. Changes could be as simple as a few station differences and a different operator, all the way to brand new stations or track alignment differences. I believe this feature would not only improve the menu navigation, decreasing duplicate routes in the menus, but would increase replayability for existing routes, and would unlock rolling stock addons that would previously have made no sense.
