I had a great time the other day working my way across London and Brighton over 12 consecutive hours. While plenty of issues remain with RH, this experience across the board was flawless and best of all, without crashes. What started out as a few hours of casual gameplay quickly turned into a 4 route marathon across Great Western Express, Brighton Main Line, East Coastway and Southeastern High Speed.

    Some notes on the journey:
    - I remained in free roam/in-world within the same route between services, regardless of layover time.
    - I wanted to simulate the last day of autumn, which after rush hour turned to first snow as I left Brighton (ECW) and made my way to London Victoria. I was pleasantly surprised that BML didn't crash with snow falling.

Here was my itinerary for the day, where I started by spawning on foot at the "office" for 11am:

    #1 GWE - 2N32 (Class 166)
London Paddington 11:28 to Reading 12:25

    #2 BML - 1O15 (Class 166)
    Reigate 12:34 to Redhill 12:39
    ***switch ends***
    #3 BML - 1O15 (Class 166)
Redhill 12:41 to Gatwick Airport 12:39

    #4 BML - 1U61 (Class 387)
Gatwick 12:58 to London Victoria 13:25
    #5 BML - 1J34 (Class 377)
London Victoria 13:36 to Three Bridges 14:13

***Took a break while waiting for the 14:34 train (service 1C37) at Three Bridges to grab a ride back to Gatwick for 14:37. The original plan was to shuffle back to London Victoria and hang around this route, but then remembered I had installed the 313 and had yet to drive it! Change of plans, going to Brighton to test out the new loco. Better yet, let's incorporate some freight!

    #6 BML - 1W74 (Class 387)
Gatwick Airport 14:40 to Brighton 15:07

    ***completed the 313 tutorial first***

    #7 ECW - 2C40 (Class 313)
    Brighton 15:12 to Seaford 15:47

    #8 ECW - 2C45 (Class 313)
    Seaford 15:54 to Brighton 16:28

    #9 ECW - 2L48 (Class 313)
    Brighton 16:52 to Lewes 17:08

    #10 ECW - 6Y43 (Class 66)
Lewes 17:11 to Newhaven Aggregate Sidings 17:25

    #11 ECW - 0Z67 (Class 66)
    Newhaven Aggregate Sidings: Load aggregate

    #12 ECW - 6V68 (Class 66)
Newhaven Aggregate Sidings 18:19 to Lewes 18:30

    ***made dinner***

    #13 ECW - 2L55 (Class 313)
    Lewes 18:54 to Brighton 19:09

***Back to the Mainline: it was here I thought I would work my way back to Paddington and call it a night...but why not hit a fourth route while I'm at it...I also took mild liberties with the clock during this route change and went back in time a whole 2 minutes to make this work***

    #14 BML - 1A55 (Class 387)
Brighton 19:08 to London Victoria 20:10

    #15 BML - 1L62 (Class 377)
London Victoria 20:21 to East Croydon 20:40

    #16 BML - 1Z24 (Class 375)
East Croydon 20:56 to Redhill 21:08

    #17 SEHS - 1S70 (Class 375)
    Rochester 21:24 to Faversham 21:53

    #18 SEHS - 1F73 (Class 395)
Faversham 22:00 to London St. Pancras 23:02

This was the best experience on TSW that I've had in a while, and just wanted to share.

I have to admire your stamina. After an hour or so, I've had enough and want to do something else.

That’s quite the journey, the longest I’ve managed so far is around 6 hours on SEHS in the 395.

Ive only managed to do 4 runs back and forth on BML in the 387 because the dispatcher seems to disintegrate after a while.

I remember when ECW first released and I did about 4 hours of Brighton - Seaford runs in a 377.

One of the great things about TSW is having the ability to do a shift in one unit throughout, I’d really like to see more self contained routes for this purpose.

After an hour or so playing TSW2, I have to do something else. :)
Although I'm retired, life's demands come a-calling. I suppose if I were younger and had fewer responsibilities, I might be able to play several hours at a stretch, though I'm not sure I would. For one thing my attention span was never that great. For another, my eyesight is just too valuable at my age. And I'm not sure it's very healthy physically and mentally anyway. I hope you took breaks, walked around and had something to eat. Once in a great while, I suppose......:)
Not criticising, you understand. Secretly I'm a little envious. :)

I always thought playing video games was supposed to help us of the older generation, good for the brain and for reflexes. That's my excuse anyway if ever the wife has a moan about how long I have been on it. Then again if she is moaning about that she is not looking for something to moan about. Lol

Gaming, like everything, is fine in moderation. In older age especially, you should take regular brakes to walk around and focus your eyes on something else. While it is true that games improve your proprioceptive skill (and even some evidence that they decrease your risk of dementia type diseases), there are also potential risks to your health such as blood clots called deep vein thromboses caused by sitting down for too long, and changes to your vision caused by focusing on a close object, i.e., a TV screen for too long which may require you to wear glasses (or change your prescription if you already have them). Sorry for bumbling on, medicine is my thing. You can find all this information on the NHS website or a respectable healthcare institution's website in other countries.
