Greetings, fellow rail nerds! I come to suggest adding the Amtrak Cascades (broken record, I know). However, I am suggesting adding the shorter route between Eugene, OR and Portland, OR first. Why does this make sense? - It adds the stops of Eugene, Albany, Salem, Oregon City, and Portland's Union Station. - It doubles as a freight railroad (mainly Union Pacific/Portland & Western). - It runs the whole length of the scenic Willamette Valley of the state of Oregon in the Pacific Northwest, a region that has no routes at all in Train Sim Classic or Train Sim World, to my knowledge. - It utilizes Talgo Series VI train sets, which would be a cool addition to the service. Yes, I know they have a lot of issues and have a lot of older Amtrak equipment working there, too, but it is unique, nevertheless. - It is the shorter half of the service, thereby requiring less development time and can be used to see how popular/unpopular such an addition is). - Unlike other Amtrak services, the trains on the Cascades service are uniquely painted in green and brown, giving them a unique look you cannot find anywhere else in Amtrak's network. - (OPTIONAL FUTURE DLC) Connects to the Portland & Western's Albany -> Newport freight service, which runs through the beautiful coastal mountain range. - (OPTIONAL FUTURE DLC) Connects to the Portland -> Seattle -> Vancouver, BC Amtrak Cascades service, running through Washington State. Includes stops in Vancouver, WA; Kelso, Centralia, Olympia, Tacoma, Tukwila, Edmonds, Everett, Stanwood, Mt. Vernon, and Bellingham. - (OPTIONAL FUTURE DLC) Amtrak Cascades & Amtrak Airo Siemens Venture train sets (Cascades and Airo Ventures are basically the same trains, just slightly different configs and paint jobs). Would be cool if it included updated timetables for the base DLC. I hope you guys will agree that adding a route like this would be a great addition to the service, and give representation to an area of American rail that is severely under-represented!
If a developer waits a few months until after the Aero Venture trains arrive, we could get the SC44/Aero in game. Also, freight runs on this line with both BNSF and UP, so we could see some awesome new BNSF and/or UP freight power. I'd suggest the BNSF SD75M/I, UP SD70M, ET44s in both liveries, and GP60 Spartan Cabs in both liveries. BNSF GP39-3 rebuilds (ex-BN GP30/GP35 rebuilds) and SD60M-3s would also be cool to see.
I mean, any excuse to give Siemens Chargers any meaningful time in the game is welcome ... especially if those were BrightLine ones lol
