Wassup fokes, welcome back to another route suggestion. The route suggestion I got now is the Pacific Surfliner. I want this route to get added to the game because Boston Sprinter is the only Amtrak route in TSW and we need more and plus more Amtrak locos and because I want to see a special Amtrak service come to TSW4. Other than that.. lets get started.

    Los Angeles - San Diego
    Route information
Los Angeles to San Diego is a route that is owned by Amtrak. The line has a max speed of 90mph for passenger and 50mph for freight. However, if you follow the tracks from Union station, there will be two rail lines from a junction, the right junction leads to San Diego. The line has a total length of 120 miles.

Los Angeles - San Luis Obispo
Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo is pretty much the full distance of the Pacific Surfliner route but however, with the two junctions I was talking about before, the left rail line leads to San Luis Obispo. This line has a length of 180.9 miles.

    PACIFC SURFLINER

The Pacific Surfliner is pulled by an SC-44 Charger. Although it used to be pulled by an F59PHI,
the SC-44 Charger replaced it in Late 2018 - Early 2019. However because the Pacific Surfliner locomotive is now an SC-44 Charger, that is more likely to be the locomotive in the route.

    SC-44
The SC-44 Charger has taken on so many passenger railroads in the USA. It is officially the diesel electric version of the ACS-64. It has the same horn and a similar cab.
    Manufacturer: Siemens Mobility
    Build date: 2017
    Length: 71 ft
    Top speed: 125mph
    Horse Power: 4,400
    Numbered: 2109-2122

    METROLINK

Also known as Los Angeles Commuter Rail, Metrolink runs from Los Angeles to Oceanside and Los Angeles to San Bernadio. The locomotives that Metrolink trains are hauled by are F125s and MP36PH-3Cs. F125s replaced the entire Metrolink F59 fleet which had been retired around a year ago.

    F125
The F125 is a diesel electric locomotive that was built my Electro-Motive Division. Metrolink is the only company to recieve these units.
    Manufacturer: EMD
    Build date: 2015
    Length: 69 ft
    Top speed: 125mph
    Horse Power: 4,700
    Numbered: 903-942

    MP36PH-3C
The MP36PH-3Cs that Metrolink own use P2 horns which are exacly the same as the Caltrain ones. Pretty much everything except the paint sceme is the same.
    Manufacturer: MPI
    Build date: 2003
    Length: 60ft
    Horse Power: 3,600
    Top Speed: 82-102mph

    COASTER

Also known as San Diego Commuter Rail, Coaster runs from San Diego to Oceanside. SC-44s are used to haul trains. These locomotive really recently entered revenue service to replace the 5 F40PHM-2Cs that built in 1994. They are only 2 older locomotives that are still in service, and these locomotives are F59PHI 3001 and 3002 but it will really soon be retired and will be getting replaced by four new SC-44s.

    SC-44
We said this before but as we all know..
    Manufacturer: Siemens Mobility
    Build date: 2017
    Length: 71 ft
    Top speed: 125mph
    Horse Power: 4,400
    Numbered: 5001-5005

    BNSF FREIGHT
The freight on this line is hauled by BNSF. The locomotive I would think would most suit the route in this game is the BNSF ES44AC because that is the freight locomotive from Pacific Surfliner in Train Simulator (well I couldn't get it because I don't live in America).

    ES44AC
    Manufacturer: GE
    Build date: 2003-2019
    Length: 73 ft
    Horse Power: 4,400
    Top Speed: 70 mph

Either of the Commuter rails could be DLC but a DLC I would wanna go with is the Southwest Chief because, well it's hard to explain but special trains that run on a route are more likely to become DLC.

    Conclusion
Thank you so much for listening to my thread today. If I did anything wrong, feel free to reply correct me. Also please do not say that BNSF won't come because of the licensing issues, I just had to put it in. But the year it should be set in is 2021 because the new Coaster trains only entered revenue service in February 2021. Other than that, I really hope you enjoyed listening to my thread and I'll see you next time.

I had suggested to this recently too, though only as far north as San Juan Capistrano for the station architecture and also to include San Clemente, with AMTK/Coaster/BNSF. My thought was that the full route to LA was maybe a little too long. This is the kind of route, though, that I would definitely be disappointed if it wasn't well done.

Hate to be that guy, but for contracting reasons BNSF routes can't be added.

Like I stated multiple times before, unless Dovetail can figure out how to obtain licenses from Metrolink and Coaster, this route wouldn't be up to its real life standards. Since it would mean the only services on the line would be Amtraks Surfliner and the Southwest Chief as far as Fullerton....

Oh yeah, the Southwest Chief would make a great DLC. Also you may wanna read what I said in the conclusion, but don't feel embarrassed because you didn't know so it's ok.
