How many times have I requested anything related to Amtrak long distance including this? Anyway I really don't care if it's only two services for the Southwest Chief on the Cajon Pass, it could add a bit more variety to the route, not to mention more spots to choose to start in Scenario Planner, which includes starting at one of the platforms at one of the three stations along the route. Real schedules are needed here for realism as it is Amtrak on two service daily trains. Uses P42DCs, all types of Superliners, and maybe a baggage car. Well two P42DCs, a baggage car, and eight Superliners.
And the community also could use it with scenario planner, which would then allow for more than just two services.
Unfortunately, the way that all the timetables are currently built in game ATM, they would need to be redone as they do not have a slot for any Amtrak Long Distance equipment to layer into either as a layer or as loco DLC for the route. And AFAIK there is no open slot on Cajon for the SWC atm. The only exception is the Lake Shore Limited for Boston Providence, as its already built into the games timetable. You cant even use the stations on Cajon Pass in Scenerio planner so they are useless.
Yes, that sadly is correct, but we still could run them on routes like SPG or the other American freight routes
Having just picked up Cajon Pass I noticed there were stations and wondered what use they got, I assumed it was a freight only route. I would love to see this Amtrak train for it then, it would be something quite different to drive on the route.
Why do you say they would have to be redone as opposed to just being able to add it into the timetable like they have done in the past with other DLC's?
Because AFAIK, it was mentioned at some point that the Cajon timetable has no extra slots for new DLCs. The ATSF F7 was the last one to add any new services to it. The BNSF SD70ACe has no new timetable services added to Cajon despite the new stock.
I would like to see a P42DC in TSW3, but I'd prefer a Siemens ALC-42 Charger. The Chargers will replace the P42s soon.
