Hello everyone, every since I heard about the release of the new MBTA line back in October, I though I would give a suggestion about a locomotive that could be a seperate add-on for the route. 2 engines will be listed and the goal is to see which one would be included. The 2 locomotives will be posted down below as well as reasons why they should be added. I will also be mentioning rolling stock that should come with both add-on's 1. The Amtrak GE P42DC Genesis locomotive A P42DC in Phase V P42DC Cab Interior A Viewliner I sleeping car A viewliner II sleeping car An amfleet 2 in Phase V An amfleet 2 cafe car in Phase V Note: The interiors of both cars are most likely the exact same as the amfleet 1 cars, these will probably be easy to make since the key differences with these ones include the amount of seats and the lack of doors on either end. In case you are wondering why the viewliner baggage and dining cars were never listed, the answer is simple, the Boston Section of the Lake Shore Limited lacks a baggage and dining car. It used to have a baggage car but it was removed in 2019. The P42DC locomotive should be added for the following reasons 1. Amtrak uses these engines on trains #448 and #449 which is the Boston Section of the Lake Shore Limited train. 2. The P42DC is the first engine anyone would automatically think of when they say the word Amtrak, myself included. Plus, this engine is the poster boy/mascot locomotive for all of their current advertisements. 3. This engine needs to be added, I honestly would love having some more Amtrak variety on TSW. 2. The MBTA GP40MC An MBTA GP40MC Cab interior of a GP40MC Here's reasons why this one would be a great add-on 1. Having a passenger variant of the GP40 in TSW would be awesome 2. It would make sense to have an MBTA unit as a separate add-on as this is an MBTA route 3. Plus, if possible MBTA GP40MC heritage unit #1129 can be included as well. 4. Rolling stock for the GP40MC can basically include the equipment that's included in both Boston Sprinter and the new route. All of you comment down below which engine you think would be a great separate add-on to the Boston- Framingham/Worchester line. I want to see the P42DC be included as a separate add-on but opinions may differ and also please correct me if I got any info incorrect. That's all I need to say.
Agreed. I hope that Amtrak long distance equipment gets added because they could also layer it into the NYC-Trenton route.
