Would like your advice for a good passenger route with a good (realistic) steam loco. Best not heritage. If none avaiable may you advise me for a a separate route and loco ? May be UK or US but with default inclueded DTG locos im not satisfied. Thanks !
I believe the Bossman Games locos are very good to drive https://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=Bossman Games The Settle to Carlisle route is a good one with good grades https://store.steampowered.com/app/65255/Train_Simulator_Settle_to_Carlisle_Route_Addon/ And Western Lines of Scotland is another good route and set in the days of Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/app/222554/Train_Simulator_Western_Lines_of_Scotland_Route_AddOn/
Thanks for this answer ! Both routes are interesting and i think i will choose Western Lines as i prefer a line more in the past. Now from the Bossman sélection which one would fit hustorically wise on this route, if any ? I found that the Patriot Class has already two scenarios for Western Lines of Scotland but maybe another would fit anyway ?
If you want passenger trains I suggest looking into Victory Works' GWR locos, all of which have scenarios for either the Falmouth Branch or Riviera Line in the Fifties routes.
Any of the LMS designed locos would have been seen in the Carlisle area Patriot, Black 5, 8F and Jubilee are all good choices for the Western Lines of Scotland You could also swap the default Scenarios for a Bossman Games engine.
Thanks again. So i will start my steam journey with the Bossman Black five : - It seems that i have a lot of scenarios with Kuju Black five on modern roads to substitute. - it will substitue quite well on scenarios of Western Lines of Scotland... - it has scenarios for West Higland Line Extension AND is RETB equipped ! I just love to play with RETB, maybe its juste decorative on the black 5 but anyway i will find out soon, so sad that AP didnt managed to put a usable on on its 37. Now that will be some serious task for me to master it !
It wasn't included on the AP37 because the route devs didn't allow others to use there scripting iirc
