I had suggested this on some thread several months ago, but now I am doing it on a specific one: Something I do not like on the great cabs of modern locomotives are the "black" screens. I mean screens does not showing anything on the sim, but are functional on real trains.. This is mainly for the german ones, which are the most we have with this situation. But could be applicable for any of all the available ones in this conditions. Note: AC4400CW it is OK, as both screens it have functions, even they show almost the same. But you can change the lower part of them at least. Example: TSW BR 185 First of all it is clear, - for me at least - to have all the screens functioning on a new sim, it is really not easy. So I clearly understand there are other issues to cover first. Furthermore on recent streaming of LGV, Matt and Sam talked about this specific point. They mentioned they are working on it, but it is not easy, due it will use more resources of the hardware - PC or console - so will affect performance. This is clear, so it is important they can solve it accordingly So my suggestion is what I consider an intermediate solution to this point, a easy one, that will not affect performance: To use just images - pictures - of these screens and include them on the cabs! DTG have access to the trains - or contacts that could share a high quality shot of all those screens on any function on them. I believe the best will be the ones which look with more information or something interesting. Furthermore on each update of the game, this pictures could be changed for new ones for all the corresponding locomotives, in order to have different ones during the time. Real locomotive cab: This solution could be used also for other smaller devices with screens - like radios, etc which usually it also have some display, but nothing appears on TSW So being like a poll, what do you think about it? Do you prefer to have black screens, or some image instead? Of course until DTG could make them all functional. Look forward for your comments
A similar thing has been suggested for the EBuLa screen. The suggestion was to simply have an imitated "Buchfahrplan" with all of the stations and speed limits etc as a static picture. I think there's a mod that does this for those of you on PC. While I think that this is a nice idea, I would not support it because then a Br 155 on MSB would still have the RSN Buchfahrplan.
If you stick an image up that image would have information on it that does not match what you are doing in the train. It’s better to have them blank than have details of a random timetable (for example) in every cab.
