So we have currently two F40PH locomotives in TSW, but neither of them are original since both depict modified/modernised versions of the loco with seperate HEP generator engines installed. What I would like to see in TSW would be an unmodifed/original F40PH version featuring HEP driven from the main prime mover. On these locos when HEP is switched on, the prime mover is speed locked depending on if the HEP switch is in Normal or Stand-by modes. In stand-by the engine is locked to iirc notch 6 with HEP being taken from the traction alternator meaning the locomotive cannot be moved in this mode and as such is intended to be used to save fuel during extended station stops, etc. In normal mode the engine runs at full notch 8 RPM which is what gave these locos the nickname of "screamer".

As for what livery/route then I have two ideas.
Amtrak phase III with a set of matching Superliner coaches.

Metrolink 800, a former Amtrak unit that Metrolink purchased and used to rescue failed trains as a "thunderbird" locomotive. Would include just the locomotive but would feature scenarios and timetable services.

Bumping this since I really want to hear what others think of this idea. I also have other ideas for what other F40s could be added that feature the original version.
Original Caltrain (before they were modified into -2CAT)
    Retro MBTA.
