As of October 23, 2023, Metrolink has expanded service between L.A Union Station and Lancaster. With this schedule update, trains run hourly between Union Station and Via Princessa and every two hours between Union Station and Lancaster during off peak times. During morning and evening commuter rush, trains run hourly between Lancaster and L.A in the morning and from L.A to Lancaster in the evening. This schedule expansion to TSW will add more AI traffic to the game, more playable services, and make the route more enjoyable. Do you know what platforms the antelope trains use in LA? Would be fairly easy to whip this up in the editor for PC users as a mod. Might give it a go making it.
Satellite Images does show a Metrolink train on one of the farther tracks, but 3-9 is probably a safe bet.
Just posting an update here, I've started working on creating the 2024 Antelope Valley timetable. The services are pretty simple, so it shouldn't take me too long. Does anyone know what platforms between 3-9 are used for the various lines? I'm assuming Antelope Valley, Ventura County, Orange County, San Bernadino etc all tend to use the same platform at LA Union for consistency? Or is it just random? Blacknred81 since you seem to be knowledgeable for US freight. Is there any freight that should actually be running on this line in 2024? Or does it all avoid this area now?
When I visited a few months ago I did see 1 domestic intermodal on the line. I believe UP still has any intermodal freights going to or from LATC from the north to this line to get to Tehachapi. Outside of that, the only other train that would be running is the local as far as Via Princessia, the rest is freight between Lancaster and the Palmdale Cutoff to Cajon Pass. EDIT: At least 2 possible trains are as follows ISELC (Seattle to LATC) ZLCLT (LATC to Lathrop)
I can't really say that I know for sure and I can't find very much information out there on the internet. But after looking at Metrolinks train tracker it seems like they try to put VC trains at track 3, AV trains on track 4/5, SB trains at 5-7, , OC at track 9 or 12 and 91/PV trains at track 11/12. However, there seems to be quite a few exceptions to this. For example, AV train 203 arrives at track 10A today and But, this means that they try to keep North- and eastbound trains to the lower track numbers whereas southbound trains tend to use the higher track numbers. Makes sense too giving what tracks they need to be on when the lines split at CP Mission. But again, there doesn't seem to be a fixed rule to it.
