Hi, I was wondering if there are any good mostly subway underground routes in and around New York City. I know there are some for Train Sim World but I am looking for some in Train Simulator Classic. They can be third-party content as well but in that case let's maybe talk about them via inbox instead of here.
The routes entering New York have tunnel bits near Grand Central and Penn, but that's all I know about on Steam. Not even a stop. There is some relationship with MTA so a Subway route could be possible, given existing extensive cityscape assets. Would have to know how popular underground routes are in this sim, there was one for London and a couple German ones. I believe there is a sim series dedicated to the subway world.
Yes there is World of Subways but I'm looking specifically for some cool underground routes or stations in Train Simulator.
Is there some reason you don't want other people to know about what has been found? AFAIK there is no NYC Subway stock available for TSC. Just the LIRR and the Metro North stock that runs underground in New York.
Given on what Matt has said about the NYC subways in TSW, I don't think we'll see them in TSC either.
We talk about third party add-ons all the time. Armstrong Powerhouse, Just Trains, Steam Sounds Supreme, Victory Works are all third party payware.
Ok my bad then, I recall talking about third-party content a few years ago and getting reprimanded over it, maybe the rules changed since, I haven't checked.
The only routes for TSC in New York that have underground portions are New York to New Haven, New York to Croton Harmon, LIRR: New York to Hicksville, NJT North Jersey Coastline, NJT Morris & Essex Lines. Below are portions of tunnel that are in New York for the Train Simulator routes. There is a free simulator known as OpenBVE that is dedicated to simulating all of the New York City subway routes, as well as World of Subways volume 4 but that only features the 7 line from back in the 70s-80s. It would be cool if we can get a route in TSC that mirrors one of the independent subway lines such as the 7 line, S line or L line, to see how it would handle in Train Simulator. Lots of different buildings and assets would need to be created though because there are many different types of apartments, housed, elevated structures, underground and elevated structures. 97th street portal to Grand Central Terminal Penn Station to Portal in Hackensack NJ Penn Station to Long Island City Amtrak West side Line tunnel from 50th street to 123rd street Atlantic Terminal to Nostrand Avenue East New York to portal near Morris Park yard just west of Jamaica station.
Thank you for your post! The London Underground has several lines reproduced for TSC, it would be doable.
