Just wondering, found these on the Marylebone-Aylesbury line, for example near Rickmansworth.

    What are these for?

London Underground power and signal cables I believe. Note the fourth rail on the track, as used by London Underground, which despite its name also operates over ground in the suburbs.

Those look like air pipes which carry the air for points, train stops etc

They are Power and Signalling Cables
You only have localised Air Powered Trip Cocks - AFAIK the air supply does not run thru the countryside

I've never heard of fixed trackside pneumatics in the UK. Do you have any examples?

I'm not sure they do any more
I think the trip cocks are now Electro-Mechanical with a spring holding the arm up and a Magnet pulls it down when clear.
When I took some pictures of the Circle like a Farringdon last year there was no air sound from the Trip Cocks

Most of the points on the system are now electrically operated

London Underground used to have an extensive air system to work track equipment mainly tripcocks and pointwork but the pipework is/was usually painted silver and the air supplied from the electrical substations.

Sorry you're wrong most are now Electrically operated.
If you would like to inform us of the locations of the Air Operated sections it would be interesting.
