Wondering if it's just me hearing the constant high pitch sound while driving the F40PH-3C. Perhaps my ears are too sensitive, but it's quite annoying.

I'm also seem to hear it in the cab-car when the headlights are set to bright. Didn't check if the headlights are also the cause in the F40PH-3C

In the cab car it's even more noticable, as the other sounds are so quiet. After a while it really started to hurt my ears. I am also a bit worried of it causing some ear damage, if your ears are exposed to it for long periods of time.

Turning the headlights to 'dim' in the cabcar worked for me.

Trying the F40PH-3C again, and the high pitch noise starts right when starting the service in Boston. So it's not the headlights.

    EDIT:
The sound does seem to stop after a while, and reappear again. Haven't found out what makes the sound dissapear and reappaer yet.

I can also confirm I hear that high pitched noise on both the locomotive and the cab car. And yes, it does get annoying.

Yeah, did a quick run and it's definitely there. Though I could easily forget about it, and I can just pretend it's just noise coming from the train itself, but yes, it's definitely there if you pay attention to it. I also noticed it seems to cut in an off in a higher volume when using the horn.

if I recall is a relay for the one of the lights (ditch lights maybe?), it makes a high pitched sound in reality.

For the cabcar it looks like the high pitch sound is caused by setting headlights to bright.
For the loco, no clue what causes it. If you have found the cause, please let us know, so we can turn off that annoying high pitch sound.

I've noticed it (a regular pulsing very high pitched sound) with the bright headlights on in the cab car, and also more occasionally when the F40 has bright headlights on too.

Well there's something wrong with my ears. Can't say I've noticed this. The only sounds I hear is the annoying windscreen wipers in the cab car when I put them on:D
