I would like to use my Virpil CM3 for different train simulators; which mostly use keypress from the keyboard (TSW2, TS2021 and so on). I can assign buttons to my throttle but I would like to make it more immersive by using the 2 levers of the throttle to control throttle and brake. Although the mapping is a hell to figure out, because since the control to increase and decrease the throttle and br https://9apps.oooake, use the same key, you need to press the key multiple times, but for the throttle, that won't work, because it is an analog controller. After a bit of research I was able to set up the throttle lever to click 4 ti mes, which is enough to control the trains I usually drive; although it goes onl y forward; I was not able to find a way to split the range in half and assign different amount of throttle in percentage, to simulate the notch you would find on a train control. I don't know how many people even bother to use a throttle for a train sim game, since there is a specific controller for train games (which sadly look like a toy and is not even supported by all the new games); but I would like to use something different from a button to make it more realistic.
CobraOnes software is what you need. https://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=139830&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=705 You can map any controller lever or button to it, I have my G27 steering wheel pedals controlling the DSD with it as well as my RailDriver, but ignore the name as it is not RailDriver specific software it works with any joystick.
